During our trip to the Traditional Lotud House, we have been doing
observation about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis.
The table below show SWOT analysis;

STRENGTHS
1. Educational
Traditional Lotud house is to
preserve the cultures and
traditions of the Lotuds. This
house also very educational that
the visitor can learn and
studying about the traditions of
Lotud especially new
generations. Based on the vision
of lotud house, this lotud house
will educate and expose to the
new generation which is they
didnt know about the shape of
the house of their ancestral
traditions
2. Provide homestay
The visitor can stay at that
house and can feel the beauty of
view in that place. The fee also
is very worthy to the visitor
3. Beautiful view
When the visitor goes to the tree
house, the visitor can be able to
see the beauty of Mount
Kinabalu. Mount Kinabalu is very
clearly to be seen when it is
above the tree house. This is can
give an authentic experience to
the visitor that can feel the
beauty of mount Kinabalu while
above the tree house.
4. Beautiful design
The design of the traditional
Lotud House is very Traditional.
5. Provide Local food
WEAKNESS
1. Too far from town
Lotud House is located in the
middle Tuaran and Tamparuli.
The visitor from Tuaran that want
come to the Lotud House need
go to Tamparuli first. This is
because the only way that the
visitor want to come need to
through Jalan Tamparuli first.
2. Advertising and Promotion
The owner of the Lotud house
only does the advertising and
promotion in facebook, face to
face or mouth to mouth. They
can promote the Lotud House in
more ways like promote in media
social like instagram, do own
website and blog.
3. Lack of activities
There are more activity can do in
the Lotud House like an event
about the traditional lotud house
in Tuaran that can attract more
people to come and see face to
face about the beauty of
traditions of the lotuds.
4. Lack of labor
Lotud house lack of labor that
can help and give advantage to
improve the management and
the operation.
5. Provide more facilities
Since the tourist or visitor can
stay overnight in Lotud House,
 The owner of the Traditional
Lotud House provides a local
food. When the tourist come to
the lotud house, they not only
can see the traditional in this
place but also can taste the local
food that dont have in their
country like jeruk bambangan,
bosou and tuhau.
OPPORTUNITIES
1. The beauty of the traditional
Lotud
Traditional lotud is one of the
traditions that very unique and
beautiful, people that come can
get experience and learn about
the traditional lotud. This is a
good opportunity to the owner
introduce to the people about
the tradition of lotud like
traditional clothes and traditional
game. Since all of this didnt
have in other place or state, this
is can give opportunities to
attract more people come to
traditional lotud house.
2. Traditional tree house
Traditional tree house is one of
the products that have provided
to the visitor. The tree house has
been build in traditional ways
that only have in the traditional
lotud house. Besides that, during
us in above of tree house, we
can see clearly the Mount
Kinabalu. This is can give
opportunities to attract more
people to come.
more facilities can be build like
wifi, private room and
recreational area which is can
attract more people to come and
stay in lotud house.
6. Transportation
Transportation can be provide
since no transportation like bus
in that area. This is also can
ease to visitor come to the lotud
house
THREATS
1. The durability of building,
wood and concrete
During the interview, have some
of the wood is not give long
lasting. With this situation, the
owner needs to focus and give
attention to the damage of the
building. With that, the visitor is
always in safe condition while
visit the lotud house
2. Security
The safety of the visitor that
want to stay overnight in lotud
house also need to be focused.
This is because lotud house is
lack of labor and need to
improve the security level.
