Goal
My first goal for PS2 is to incorporate the need for differentiated learning in
the classroom. This is a continuation from my first practicum, and I learnt it
was incredibly important to do so. Thus I felt this goal would need to
continue in my second practicum. Going into my PS2 placement, I recognize
the need for differentiated learning, as there is a wide range of abilities and
readiness levels in the classroom.

Reflection
Over all I believe that I have achieved my goal. This does not mean that by any means I am
perfect in differentiating my instruction. Instead I acknowledge that this is something that I
will continue to work towards, especially when trying to meet the needs of the students. This
practicum was incredibly important for differentiated instruction as I have many students
with exceptionalities that required IPPs. I found that I did needed to provided multiple ways
for students to engage with the material and instructions, allowing for written and verbal
allowances. However, I realized the importance of assessment in understanding how to
differentiate your instruction. Thus, going forward from here I believe that I will not only
continue to differentiate my instruction but also focus on the importance of assessment as
well.

Reflection
Did I ever learn about classroom climate in this practicum! I do believe that I have reached
by goal by making sure that students were on task, aware of routines and actions.
Accountability was stressed time and time again to me, and was something that I really
worked on to make sure the students were participating in a way that was good for
classroom climate. I felt that I could build a relationship with several of the students, by
conversations, getting involved in extracurricular activities, and greeting the students by the
door etc. I do acknowledge that a lot of my knowledge and positive classroom climate was
the work of my TA, who set up the classroom up for successs. I will continue to make sure
