Grant Application Guidelines and Terms & Conditions


University College Dublin Foundation Limited (hereinafter referred to as UCD
Foundation)
UCD Foundation is a registered charity (Reg. No. CHY12448) and a company limited by
guarantee, registered in Dublin, Ireland (Reg. No. 266667). It is also an approved body
within the meaning of Section 848A of the Irish Taxes Consolidation Act 1997.
The purpose of UCD Foundation is to raise donations for the furtherance of education
and research carried out by University College Dublin in its pursuit of education,
teaching and research. Donations received are acknowledged by UCD Foundation and
are allocated to UCD in accordance with the wishes of donors.

How to apply
A UCD Foundation Grant Application form must be completed and then signed by the
UCD Authorised Official (being the person responsible for the Grant Application). The
grant application must also be supported by the College Principal, Head of School or
Vice President and applicants must comply with the terms and conditions relating to the
award of grants detailed below. Completed grant application forms should be returned
to the UCD Foundation Finance Director at esther.salley@ucdfoundation.ie

Terms and Conditions relating to the Award of Grants


1. On approval the grant must be utilised within the timeframe specified in the grant
application form. If there are any unexpected delays on the spenddown of the
funds, UCD Foundation must be notified as soon as possible.
2. Grants are not transferable, and may only be used for the purpose described in the
grant application form.
3. In the event of work being discontinued before the expiry of the period covered by
the grant, immediate notification must be given to UCD Foundation. Funds unused
at the end of the grant period must be reported to the UCD Foundation.
4. The UCD Authorised Official shall inform UCD Foundation in writing of any changes
in persons named on the grant application form.
5. UCD Foundation may monitor and conduct an evaluation of operations under this
grant which may include a visit from UCD Foundation as a matter of good
practice and governance.
6. UCD Foundation may reference grants awarded on the UCD Foundation website
and in donor relations communications and other relevant publications unless a
compelling reason for confidentiality is provided. UCD Foundations support can
be disclosed by grantees provided UCD Foundation reviews and is notified in
advance of any press releases or similar announcements or communications that
mention the Foundation.
7. Failure to complete this form fully and return the relevant information sought
subsequently will render the grant offer void.

Reporting Requirements
UCD Foundation requires the grantee to submit an annual progress report and a final
report. Interim reports should be submitted to UCD Foundation upon request. These
reports must be made in the format specified and requested by UCD Foundation.
All reports must include a financial report on the use of the funds received. Financial
reports are subject to audit by UCD Foundations auditors or their designee at the
discretion of UCD Foundation. In order to facilitate such financial reporting and auditing,
the beneficiary is required to keep accurate and systematic accounts and records of the
use of the funds and to permit UCD Foundation to inspect these upon request.
