Whenpiston(5)isatthehighestposition,oilfromliftingarea(6)atthebottomofpiston(5)isdirectedthroughpilotpassage(10)totheleftendofmainspool(3).
Mainspool(3)shiftstotheright.Thisconnectstheaccumulatorchamberwiththeupperflangeofpiston(7).Accumulator(1)andtheinletlinesuppliesoiltothe
upperflangeofpiston(7).Theupperflangeofpiston(8)isputunderpressure.Thiscausespiston(5)tostartthedownwardimpactstroke.

spool(3).Thisallowsmainspool(3)tomovebacktotheleft.Piston(5)isnowbacktothestartpositionandreadyforthenextcycle.

Note:Theoilbelowtheupperflangeofpiston(8)functionsasahydraulicbrake(11)onpiston(5).Hydraulicbrake(11)protectspiston(5)andthecylinderfrom
idlestrokes.
