Report on Apply (report part 5)

In this document, I am going to be writing about the Apply section of the

Unit 5 assignment 3 brief. In this document, I am also going to be referring
to the points in the brief to Unit 32 assignment 2 and Unit 72 assignment
2. The list below is the range that I am going to be covering in this
assignment:
Pre-production phases
Production phases
Post production phases
Monitoring progress how and why
Reviews how and why

Post production phases:

Postproduction refers to the sections of the unit where I create

storyboards, dope sheets and proposals; this is where I start to create an
idea for the graphics/video/animation I am going to produce.
A great example of post-production is the report from Unit 54 assignment
2 as in the report I included all of my ideas, reasoning and storyboards for
the graphics I was going to produce for the Pixels.
The 11 images below are the 11-pages from the report/proposal I created
in Unit 54 assignment 2.
The images shown above show the 11-pages in the Unit 54 assignment 2
proposal. This shows that it is full of storyboards and ideas.

To conclude, post-production is all about the things to do before creating

something like the storyboards and dope sheets. The example above
shows a proposal and all of the storyboards I included in the proposal, this
shows that I created and explained the post-production ideas.

Production phase:

Throughout this year, I have had to create two videos, graphics for a
game, graphics for a band and a game idea. These have all had
postproduction, production and postproduction phases. The best way to
show the production phase is through Unit 54 assignment 3s diary, as I
had to document how I created the game graphics for that section.
The images below show a few pages from the diary around the time I was
designing the poster, I cannot shot the whole documents as there are
around 40/50 pages in the diary.

In the
images
above I
have
chosen to
show the production of the character
on the poster, this is because it is a small example and it shows how I
used an image to create a template that because a simplified version of
the character that I ended up using as I thought that it looked better.
This is a great example of production as it shows the image going from
template to final version.

To conclude, the production phase is all about how assets/images/videos

are made. The example I put above is making graphics from Unit 54 as I
have the diaries that give me production evidence whereas I do not have
any production evidence for filming the videos as the brief did not specify
to.

Post production phase:

This section is all based on the evaluations on the videos/graphics that I

produced. The images below show the evaluation I created for the
graphics in Unit 54 assignment 2.

These are the first two pages of the

evaluation, I would include the whole
page but there are 13 pages to use.
The two images to the left show the
evaluations from Unit 54 assignment
4, this shows the post production
phase as this is made after I created
the graphics for this Unit and is called
post production.

To conclude, the evaluation above (and all the other evaluations I created)
are all postproduction as postproduction means to evaluate the work that
you have already done or to evaluate work that someone else has already
done. As I had already created all the graphics by the time I wrote the
evaluation this is classed as postproduction, if I wrote it before it would be
pre-production like the storyboards and if I did it during it would be
production like the diary.

Monitor progress:

The best way to determine progress/track progress is through the ILPs in

each assignment. An example of this is in Unit 32 assignment 2 and Unit
72 assignment 2.
The image to the right show an image of the ILP from Unit 32 assignment
2.
The ILP to the right shows that I had three sessions to complete
assignment 2 and I finished the assignment to deadline and did
not go over. This is the best way to monitor progress as while
you are doing to assignment you can fill in each section and look
at how many sessions you have already had and how many are
left. By looking at how many sessions you have left you can plan
exactly what is left to do and how much time to allocate each
section.

The image to the right is the ILP from Unit 72

assignment 2, this shows a bigger ILP than the
Unit 32 assignment 2 example and also proves
that it is easy to monitor progress on the ILP.
The image to the right shows the ILP from Unit 72
assignment 2, this shows that I had nine sections
and used five to complete all of the work. Just like
the other ILP it is easy to plan time when you can
see what is left to do and how much time to do everything
in.

Reviews how and why:

Throughout the units, I have had a few reviews; these are from
questioners that I handed out to people. The example that I have decided
to analyse is the
The image to the right shows an example of reviews; these are the
questionnaire analysis from Unit 33 assignment 4. This shows a
review of the Claymation that I designed in Unit 33; this shows
what people throughout of the Claymation after watching it.
To conclude, the review section is the feedback that I received from
various work in different Units, the example that I showed above
was all about the questionnaire review I received from Unit 54
assignment 4, this shows the reviews that I received from all ten
people who filled in a questionnaire.
