Unit 32
Here is how I prepared to meet the deadline and I also used things like an ILP to
help me stick to the deadline the ILP gave me an idea of what I need to do and
around about when I should be doing it. I also had things such as milestone
reviews this was in more detail of what I have done and what I am planning on
doing in the next session. Again a timeline is less brief as the ILP and just
narrows down what needs to be done and when.
I also started to do millstone reviews that I have included the screen shots of
below these indicate what I was taking into consideration of the brief and the
timing placed which were negotiated. All of my millstone reviews were

negotiated at the start of the brief.

Timescale
Deadline and how I met them. I did this mainly by sticking to my ILP that I
already had everything that I needed to do. And if on that date I fell behind then I
would catch up in my spare time to make sure that I caught up and was up to
date again I made sure that my ILP was up to date and that I stuck with it. Of
course, on the day given of the assignment I was already given the deadline with
that. To the right is my ILP as you can see it shows my beginning date and also
my deadline.
My resources and sources that I
have used and of course, I have the

software needed to create my TV Ident that I needed

to do for this assignment. Such as a computer,
Photoshop, director and premier pro. And then any
additions information I needed and extra graphics
and ideas I got from the internet and had to collect
my own sources and made a sources document.
Here is an example of my sources document. Also
to show what software I have used I and did a diary
and a checklist and I feel like although they earnt
mentioned they are still relevant as proof. The resource that I also had was
Moodle here is a screenshot of Moodle and the resources that I need.

Brainstorm

Below is the first page of my Proposal in a readable format however due to the
length of the rest of my proposal the rest will be screen shots.
PROPOSAL
In this proposal I am going to be discussing how and what I am going to be doing
when it comes to creating an album cover and poster for the local band from
Manchester. The pixels are a Manchester based band who has had a reasonably
successful career in and around the local Manchester local music scene for the
last five years. They have now been picked up by and offered a deal by a record
company, this is where the opportunity came for me to create, and design a rage
of promotional materials; a logo, A3 poster and CD cover designed to launch
them into a national and possibly international audience and market place. The
Pixels are a mid-20s ages band with 5 members being: 2 guitarists, 1 bassist, a
drummer and a singer. The names included are Ben Barlow, Fil Thorpe-Evans,
Dani Washington, Matt West and Sam Bowden. In this proposal, I will focus on
and describe, develops and establishes what concepts, formats, dimension
layouts, content, formats and images I would agree to be suitable within the
album art and poster, which meets the brief/scenario. When it comes to the
creation of the cover and poster this will be recorded in a software diary.
CONCEPTS
The pixels are a pop punk band from Manchester who formed in 2012. I want to
keep the theme of pop punk, use bright colours, and use the songs that are
featured on the CD to influence the look of the poster and CD. I am also doing
research on some bands and there album covers for some inspiration that are of
the same genre and these can be seen below. Of course, I want everything that I
do to appeal to the demographic and to also fit with the band and what they
stand for and to make sure that it fits the look that they are going for. Some of
the album covers that I have researched do not necessary fit the vibe that I want
the album to give out. However, I can use them as inspiration on what I want the
final look to be for the A3 poster and the CD.
State Champs
State Champs is an American pop punk band
from Albany, New York, formed in 2010. They
are currently signed to Pure Noise Records
and have released three EPs and two full-
length albums. They released an acoustic EP
titled The Acoustic Things in October 2014
and their second full-length album Around
the World and Back one year later, in
October 2015. Their 2013 full-length, The
Finer Things, debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.
State Champs formed in the spring of 2010 in Albany, New York by founding
members lead guitarist Tyler Szalkowski and lead singer Derek DiScanio. Shortly
 after forming, they self-released EP 2010 in August,
which was followed by their second self-released EP,
Apparently, Im Nothing, in January 2011. This EP
contained several new songs and 2010 EP in its
entirety. In July, the band toured with The Tired and
True and Call It Fiction.[8] In April 2012, interest in a
demo of "Critical" helped the band gain a recording
contract, a management company and a booking
agency. On April 19, it was announced that the band
signed to Pure Noise. In July and August, the band
toured with With the Punches and Forever Came Calling on The PropertyOfZack
Tour. The band released the Overslept EP in September through Pure Noise. In
September and October, the band supported Handguns, then supported Citizen
the following month. The band toured alongside Hit the Lights, A Loss for Words
and With the Punches in December.
New found glory
New Found Glory (formerly A
New Found Glory) is an
American from Coral Springs,
Florida, formed in 1997. The
band currently consists of
Jordan Pundik (lead vocals),
Chad Gilbert (lead guitar,
backing vocals), Ian Grushka
(bass guitar) and Cyrus

Bolooki (drums). Longtime rhythm guitarist and

lyricist Steve Klein departed from the band in late
2013, following "personal differences." During
their lengthy recording career, the band have
released eight studio albums, one live album, two
EPs, and three cover albums. Emerging as part of
the second wave of pop punk in the late
1990s, music critics consider them a key
pioneer of the genre. Labelled the "godfathers of
pop punk",AllMusic credits them for
"practically serving alongside the work of
Blink-182 as the blueprint to the entire genre for the early 2000s." Also
renowned for their energetic live performances, the band has garnered a cult
following since their inception.

assignment 2 is due
 I also kept a sources document to keep tack
where I found out all of my information. This is

The evidence above shows and proves that I

understand the requirements of the brief and that I am able to complete the
proposal for the client. I feel as I have met all of the requirements in this proposal
and you are able to see all of my evidence in my personal workspace of on

Script
For unit 54 I did not have a script however I
went and found one for unit 33 so here is
an example of what my script looks like for
this unit and is an example of what I have
done.

Meet requirements of brief

Of course, things like the ILP helped me to
meet the requirements as it lists
everything that I need to do along with the
actual brief its self as that has listed
everything that needed to do. As for peer
feed back using my example from unit 34 where I gave my peers a
questionnaire and then once they had filled it out I then did an evaluation of
what the questionnaire told me. Below is my statically analysis of the
questionnaire.
Statistical Evaluation
I did a questionnaire containing 7 different questions. In addition, printed out 10
copies that I then handed out to my peers for them to complete this evaluation
will be based on the data that I have collected by doing this.
Do you think my animation is entertaining for children?
100% said yes of course this is a statistic that I am proud of; as this is of course,
a main objective for the animation is to make sure that it is appealing to children
and also entertaining as it is an animation and to get the message across about
healthy eating,

Two people gave me 9/10 for my animation of course I am proud of this and do
agree with it as I defiantly dont think that my animation is a 10/10 because I can
personally see areas that I need to improve and also bits that I could work on and
improve to help make my animation look more professional. Six people gave me
8/10 and I agree with this as I feel like this is where my animation is at and then
two people gave me a 7/10 or lower.
For me 6 is defiantly more realistic for me to achieves I do feel as if my
animation is more like this rather than a 10/10

Is there anything I can do to improve my animation?

Here is my own personal opinion

Edit sound better

Move characters more
Characters have a better facial expressions

These are defiantly things that I think I could have done to make my animation
better and will defiantly consider these if/ when I next do an animation.
I asked a total of six questions and of them were answered these where simple
questions such as dose my animation contain music? Is my animation 30
seconds long? These where basic questions about things that need to be done
that were included on the assignment brief of what I needed to do.
Conclusion
Overall, I am happy with all of the data that I collected from the questionnaires.
As it help me to improve my animation and make it better and also offers some
other criticizes on things that I didnt relies I had missed such as there is a part in
the audio where someone else is speaking. These points are defiantly things that
are said to help me improve my animation.

Evaluate against requirements and constraints

This is what I talked about in my evaluation discussing what I did and what I
struggled with and how I would do things differently. So here is my evaluation. It
is all in the format of screen shot.

Pre-production
The pre production phase is all of the planning that I did to help me decide what
it was I wanted to do and how I was going to do it. This is basically all of the
research. Here is my evidence for investigating graphic file formats this helped
me have more of an understanding of what I wanted to do.
Production phases
The production phase I where I was actually creating the whole here is my
evidence of my diary as this is a log of what I was doing and when I was doing it.
Below are screen shots of my diary and what I did to create my final products.
Post-production phases
One the product is done then this is where I look more into what I could have
done differently and if I was to do it again then I would I did it the same and what
would I change this is basically the evaluation. Here is my evaluation. Here is the
first few pages in written form and then the rest of the pages will be screenshots.

Effectiveness
Extent to which brief has been realised
How has my work met the brief? I followed the assignment brief to make sure
that my work met it as it said that I needed to create a CD cover consisting of a
front, back and spine. In addition, an A3 poster and for it to look professional and
be of a good/high quality. Also along with creating the three graphics, I also
needed to keep a dairy up-to-date of what it is that I did to create my graphics
and also list any sources that I used through this can be from me including
images of albums as examples and also from doing research of other bands I just
copied and pasted the URL onto my sources document.
Use of appropriate methods & techniques
The main software that I have used through
my work and also creating these graphics in
Photoshop as it is the best software for me
to use when it comes to what I want to do
which is taking different images editing
them and also re arranging them and
adding text to a certain canvas size to fit
the assignment brief. All of the skills that I
have used I have used I have documented
in my checklist this is what I have done on
Photoshop and what tools I have used whilst
I have been creating all of my graphics. As
you can see to the right this is part of my
checklist and all that I did was write about
what it is I did and how I used each tool and
add on to Photoshop
Level of professionalism achieved
I feel as if my level of professionalism that I have achieved is actually quite high
and I am happy with the outcome of all the graphics that I have produced and I
think that any band who need advertisement would use the posted that I have
created as I feel as it is fitting tit he band and the look that they have along with
fitting with the genre as the genre of pop-punk is unusual and I wanted that to
come through in the artwork and poster that I have designed for the pixels also
my graphics that are included in my work I have also made sure that my
graphics are of a high quality.
Problem solving
The only problem I came across to do with my graphics was getting the CD cover
to fit the case as it was smaller than what I needed it to be as the size that I had
researched wasnt the right size however I did solve this by just simply
measuring the standard CD case that I needed the cover artwork to fit in and
then enter the dimensions into Photoshop and just re sized some of the images
and then reprinted and cut it out then it fitted perfectly. This was the only
problem that I came across whilst working on this unit and it was easily and very
simply solved.

Skill development & Areas for improvement
Overall the areas that I think I can improve on is using a more of a variety of tool
especially when it comes to Photoshop I need to venture out from the basic tools
that I always seem to use and try some more different ways of getting the result
I want as this can also mean that I find a way to do something better than I was
doing before another thing I could improve on is keeping my diary up to date I
found it easier to write about some steps I was going to do and then actually do
them however there are times where I didnt go into as much detail as was
needed and I defiantly missed out some steps when writing about what I did as
well as including screenshots off my work as this was something that I also found
that I forgot to do as well as I seemed to get carried away with creating the
graphics and forgot to write about it.

Self-evaluation
My conclusion for this unit is that overall, I am proud of what I have achieved
although in some places it could do with some work. I have developed my skills
further on Photoshop. In addition, this is something that had used before and
now I have even more experience with the software however it is with the use for
creating something that I have not quite done before. This being about my fifth
time working with Photoshop but my first on make sure the sizes are so
accurate .there are things that I would do differently having known what I know
now. Overall, I am happy with the final look of my graphics and how the CD cover
and A3 poster turned out however there are certain things looking at other
people work that I feel I could have incorporated into my work.

Reviews
After I have finished the project, I do a
review of the final product that I have
created. With a bigger project the whole class will normally have a festival where
all of the finished products are shown and rate by our peers work according to
the assignment brief.
