Programming Instructions for Verifone Omni Vx Series

Terminals
All downloads require an Analog phone line. Connections are not gauranteed
using phone services such as voice over ip (VOIP) from your cable company
or digital subscriber lines (DSL) from your telphone company.

For reprograms, please remember to settle any open batches before

attempting your download.

Please Note: Programming instructions may vary based on the operating

system and software applications programmed into the terminal. These
download instructions are intended for newer Verifone terminals using OS
version Qx0008A4 and higher. To check your version, unplug the terminal
and plug it back in. The OS version will appear on line two of the first screen
that flashes for about two seconds. If you miss it, simply unplug the terminal
and try again. If your running version Qx0008A3or lower, please contact MSI
technical support for assistance upgrading your terminals operating system.
Vx510 P/N NA1 and NA2 Highest OS is 8A4.

1. Connect the phone line to the bottom or rear of the terminal into the
port that has a picture of a telephone and plug in the power.

2. Press the F2 and F4 keys together. You will be prompted for a

password. Verifones default password is 1, Alpha, Alpha, 6, 6, 8, 3, 1,
and then press Enter. You will see SYS MODE MENU 1 at the top of
the display. Continue to step 3. *If you are prompted for the password
again, the terminal is locked. You must contact the current processor
for the System and Group 1 Passwords to program the terminal.

3. Press the Purple key that has an arrow above it that points downward
one time. This will bring you to SYS MODE MENU 2 screen.

4. Press F2 (Memory Functions)

5. Press F4 (Clear Mem). The terminal will display Enter Group 1, press
Enter. If you are not prompted for a password, continue to step 6. If
prompted for the Group 1 Password, enter Verifones default password ,
(1, Alpha, Alpha, 6, 6, 8, 3, 1), and then press Enter. *If you are
prompted for the password again, try the password you received from
the current processor during step 2.

6. Press F4 (Clear All Groups)

7. Press F4 (Confirm)The display will flash ALL RAM & FLSH CLEAR
COALESCING FLASH and then bring you back to SYS MODE MEM
FUNCS screen. Press the Red Cancel key one time.
 8. Press the Purple key that has an arrow pointing upwards above it one
time. This will bring you to the SYS MODE MENU 1 screen.

9. Press F3 (Download). The display will read GROUP ID: _1, Press Enter.

10. If programming a Vx510LE, press F3 (Single-App). If programming

a Vx510, Vx510DC, Vx570, or Vx570DC, press F4 (Multi-App).

11. Press F3 (Full)

12. Press F2 (Modem)

13. If the screen displays *ZP HOST PHONE NUM. Press 18883288472,
press Enter and continue to step 14. If the screen displays SYS MODE
DOWNLOAD - *ZA, *ZP, *ZT, *ZB Press F3 (Edit) and skip to step 15.
14. The screen will display *ZT TERMINAL ID. Enter the *TERMINAL ID*
for this merchant from your Online Status and then press Enter. If
programming a Vx510LE continue to step 15. If programming a
Vx510, Vx510DC, Vx570, or Vx570DC Skip to step 19.

15. I f programming a Vx510LE ,the screen will display *ZA APPLICATION

ID, Press the yellow arrow key until the application name is completely
gone. Enter the *App ID* from your online status and press Enter. If
programming a Vx510, Vx510DC, Vx570, or Vx570DC, press F4
(Multi-App).

16. The terminal display will read *ZP HOST PHONE NUM Press the yellow
arrow key until the phone number is completely gone. Press
18883288472 and then press Enter.

17. The terminal display will read *ZT TERMINAL ID Press the yellow
arrow key until the terminal id is completely gone. Enter the
*TERMINAL ID* for this merchant from your online status and then
press Enter.

18. If programming a Vx510LE, the display will read USE HIGHEST

AVAILABLE CONNECTION RATE? Press F3 (Yes). If programming a
Vx510, Vx510DC, Vx570, or Vx570DC the terminal will display
SELECT BLOCK SIZE FOR DOWNLOAD. Press F1 (1000).

19. Press F4 (Start)

The terminal status will read Connecting, the status will change to
Downloading with 10 dash marks when the terminal connects and starts
downloading. The dash marks will turn into stars(*) indicating the progress of
the download.
When the download is complete, the terminal will restart. The Vx510LE,
Vx510, and Vx570 screen will then display Sale, Settlement, Void options
and your terminal is ready for testing. The Vx510DC and Vx570DC screen
will then display Softpay-PAYM and CommServer. Press F2 (Softpay-Paym),
the display will read Sale, Settlement, Void options and your terminal is ready
for testing.

Additional Notes:

*If the donwload fails due to communication errors, the display will read
DOWNLOAD FAILED GO FILE NOT FOUND or LOST CARRIER. Press the Red
Cancel key. Press the F2 and F4 keys together. You will be prompted for a
password, enter Verifones default password , (1, Alpha, Alpha, 6, 6, 8, 3, 1),
and then press Enter. *If you are prompted for the password again, try the
password you received from the current processor. Repeat step 9. You will be
prompted for a password, enter Verifones default password , (1, Alpha, Alpha,
6, 6, 8, 3, 1), and then press Enter. *If you are prompted for the password
again, try the password you received from the current processor. Repeat step
10, step 11, step 12, and step 19.
