Questions for Interviewees

For the investigation process of my capstone, I will do interviews in both English and Spanish,

that way I can accomplish a more in depth research. The questions are the exactly the same, only

the language changes. In a way so the could be more comfortable, I will ask for them to present

themselves and say their cultural background. Then I would begin asking them the questions.

1. In your own words, what does it mean to say a language is endangered?

2. How do languages become extinct and what are the factors that are involved?

3. Is language extinction sudden or gradual? Why do you think so?

4. What does the disappearance of a language mean for a community and for us as members

of a society?

5. Are there any benefits in using an older language that helps in current communication

and social media?

6. What can be done to preserve dialects and endangered languages?
