Setup
Give each player a Character board and Level markers to place
on Dungeon level 1 1 and Character level 1 2 .
These markers indicate your current character level and the
current level of the dungeon that you are on.
Give each player Companion tokens according to their character level
to place in the Party Space on their Character board 3 .

4 Mix the loot tokens face-down and count out loot tokens based on
the number of players.
# Players Loot Tokens This is the loot available for the
40 game, return the rest of the loot
tokens to the box unseen.
55 5 Shuffle the Dungeon cards and
70 place it in the center of the play area.
80 6 The bravest player will take the
90 first turn.
Game Play
The game is played in rounds called delves. During each delve,
players take turns in clockwise order until each player has stashed
treasure or fled.

On your turn, choose . . .
Seek Glory or Stash Treasure:
Seek Glory
When you choose to Seek Glory on your turn, draw a card from
the deck and add it to your display. You must deal with whatever
you encounter on that card. There are three types of cards you may
find: Dungeon cards, Dragon cards, and Pilfer cards.
Dungeon cards are divided into 5 rows corresponding to
Dungeon levels. When you draw a Dungeon card, look only
at the row corresponding to your current Dungeon level (as
indicated on your Character board).

Loot Pouch
4
Chest - Chests are locked, they require that you use
companions to open them. Any companion can open 1
Chest, Thieves and Champions can open all Chests on
your level. For each Chest opened, take a Loot token
into your Pouch, and move the used companion to the treasure
spot on the player board. That companion cannot be used again
this round.
Note: Do not flip that Companion token over to the side you do
not gain experience for opening chests!
Dragon cards represent the imminent threat of a dragon.
If this is your first or second dragon card, nothing special
happens. But if this is your third dragon card, you must
defeat the dragon or flee.
Dragons require any 3 companions to be defeated. However,
each dragon is weak against a particular companion type, as
indicated on the dragon card. 1 companion of that type and any other
companion (2 companions total) can be used instead of any 3.
Fleeing
If you are ever forced to flee during a delve, you must abandon any
loot and experience gained that delve. Put all Loot tokens from your
pouch back into the Loot pile and discard the experience from your
Party Space (not the experience in the XP space on your Character
board, thats yours to keep).
Once you flee, you no longer take turns in the current delve.
Stash Treasure
Once you have chosen to Stash Treasure, you no longer take turns in
the current delve. When you choose to Stash Treasure on your turn you
may lock in all the progress you have made that delve.
1 Move all loot tokens from your
3 pouch to your satchel.
2 Move all tokens from the
1 Party Space to the XP space.
4 3
A number of stair icons ( )
is indicated on the Dungeon Level
2 track. If you have at least that many
stair icons on the cards from your
delve, then you may descend to
the next dungeon level. Move your
Dungeon level marker accordingly.
You may only descend 1 dungeon
level per delve.
6
Leveling Up
You may only level up when you stash treasure and you have
enough tokens to reach the next level.
4 If you have enough tokens in the XP space on your
character board to level up (as indicated on your Character level
track), discard that many tokens and advance your Character level
marker to the next level.
Note: Leveling up is not optional. Also, it is possible to gain more
than 1 Character level at a time, if you have enough tokens to do
so.
As your Character level goes up, your party will upgraded (a new
companion will join you, or a companion will become a Champion).
At level 5 you gain a unique ability but your companions do not
change.
End of a Delve
Bravery bonus: As soon as you are the last player in a delve (all
other players have fled or stashed treasure), take two Loot tokens into
your satchel as a bonus for your bravery.
Once all players have either stashed treasure or fled, prepare for the
next delve. Repopulate your Party Space with Companion tokens
according to your current Character level. Whoever earned the
Bravery bonus in the previous delve will play first in the next delve.

Game End
When the last Loot token has been taken from the supply, the
game ends immediately. All players may now flip over the Loot
tokens in their pouchs and satchels.
Each Loot token is worth 1, 2, or 3 points, as indicated by
coins pictured on the back of the token.
EmeraldGem
There are 6 Loot tokens which show gems instead of coins
- three rubies, and three emeralds. These tokens are worth 1
point per gem of that type in your possession. For example, 1
Ruby Gem ruby and 2 emeralds would be worth a total of 5 points.
