Action Plan:
Step1: DRS Backup of all server.
Step2: Installation of 8.6 software(CUCM,CUC,IM/P) then install fresh Server C
UCM 8.6 on my new UCS BE7000M4.
and then Restore Backup on New CUCM 8.6 on UCS BE7000M4 Server and check all t
hird party integration.
Step3: Installation of 11.0 Upgradation software(CUCM,CUC,IM/P) on newly built
CUCM 8.6 (UCS BE7K)and check all third party integration.
Step 4: After verification of all application behavior I will replace new hardwa
re with Old UCSC210M2 in data center.

Now my Question are?

1) Is I need any extra COPS file except upgrade file only?
2) What will be procedure for upgrade first will update all PUB(CUCM,CUC,IM/P)?
3)Most important when I install new CUCM 8.6 on new hardware which OVA template
I use 8.6 OVA or 11.0?
4)Is we need to upgrade IP Phone Versions?

1. Backup old CUCM 8.6

2. Install a new Test CUCM 8.6 server (the same version to old CUCM) using BE7K
3. Upgrade Test CUCM 8.6 server to CUCM 11 and perform a system backup
4. Install a new CUCM 11 server
5. Restore the system backup (from Test CUCM 8.6 server) to the new CUCM 11 serv
er
6. Check if everything is okay after restoring to the new CUCM 11 server

How can I bulk remove ITL / CTL files from phones??

CUCM Version 11.X: Supported Versions of VMware vSphere ESXi = 5.0 U1, 5.1, 5.5,
6.0
Multiple versions of ESXi are supported by UC applications.
To upgrade the ESXi software on a host, you must power off all virtual machines
or migrate the virtual machine to a different host.

Instructions for installing or upgrading to a specific ESXi release are availab

le in the release notes of the ESXi version you install. For example, here are
the VMware ESX 4.1 Update 1 Release Notes.

After upgrading ESXi, or whever moving a virtual machine to a different host th

at is running a different version of ESXi, VMware Tools must be upgraded on the
UC applications so that the tools versions shows "Up to Date" in the vSphere C
lient (see VMware Tools).

It is OPTIONAL to upgrade the VMV (Virtual Machine Version) version of the virt
ual machine to the newer VMV version. If you do upgrade to the newer VMV versio
n, note that your virtual machine cannot be changed back to the previous VMV ve
rsion, and that the new VMV version will NOT run on your older version of ESXi.
For example, if you are running a vmv7 virtual machine on ESXi 4.1, and you up
grade to ESXi 5.0, you can optionally upgrade the vm to vmv8. Once you upgrade
to vmv8, your virtual machine can only run on ESXi 5.0 and later. Once upgrade
d to vmv8, the virtual machine cannot be converted back to vmv7. For further in
formation see VMware documentation.
