Great expectations of classroom behaviour — they all went back to their seats and worked without
talking. This shows that you have structure and organisation in the classroom and the students know
‘this expectation in Reading lessons,
Areas of improvement ~ A few students had things in their hand whilst you were explaining. Just ask
‘them to put it away or on the floor in front of them — This will show you that they are listening,
12:30 — Writing ~ Christmas writing
TUNING IN: You had everyone excited about the topic of Christmas. Brainstorming ideas got the
students thinking about what they feel, what they see, what they hear! Ilove how you wrote the
ideas up on the board, allows the students to refer back to this whilst writing, You are very good at,
“giving positive behavioural feedback — Well done for sitting nicely, Mia has her hand up nice and
straight etc. Students love to know that they are doing the right thing and it shows others how to
behave correctly,
ACTIVITY: Modelling activity was great. Showing the students that you have written your own, shows
them the expectations and also shows them... it must be fun If you did it too. !liked how you gave
them time to ask questions,
REFLECTION: Sharing with cach other on their table was great and getting only three students to
read out their written,
‘Amazing lesson — even hear one of the students say "that was so much fun"!
Reading ~ INFERRING
TUNING IN: You explained the activity very well, you always know if there aren't many questions
from the students you've done a good job. By modelling what is expected the student had a real
understanding of what needed to be done, Learning should never be a secret, always tell them what
skill they will be learning, such as this activity will help you to infer when reading - the aim of this
activity is to infer what is happening in the picture.
ACTIVITY: The students quickly got to work which shows that they know the expectations of the
lesson and what they have to achieve. | iked how you roamed the classroom to answer any
questions from the students.
It’s great to see you using the strategies of picking only the quiet ones sitting probably. It’s working,
you will notice over the next two weeks you won't have to say it much ast will become an.
‘expectation that they are used to.
READING GROUP: It was fantastic to see how excited the students were to be working with you. You
were organised and obviously this helped the lesson ran so smoothly.
REFLECTION: When asking them to put books away it was great to see that you asked them to wait
until you had finished talking- great work. | liked how you asked them to put their papers on the
floor so no sound ~ exactly what | would do, Putting the students into pairs to share their answers ~
‘great idea - gets them all discussing their answers. They love reading out their answers 50 choosing
2 few students to read out their answers was great. When they read out their answers, | iked how
you asked another question to get them to explain why.Maths ~ 2D shape
TUNING IN:
+ Brainstorm ~ It was 2 great idea asking the students what they know. I love how you re-_
asked a question in a different if the students looked a bit confused or not as many hands
vp.
~The students loved the PowerPoint. | liked how you explained what parallel means — you
picked up that the students didn’t know what this meant. Well done — Exactly what a
teacher would do. And I liked how even though you missed a line, you went back to explain
it, Asking the students what each clue meant was good ~ it’s good because you will get those
couple of students that find it hard to read or needs a little more help to find the answer.
- It was a great to discuss shapes about the classroom and school. | iked how you got a
student up to dr
~ “Te was great to hear you asking the students to sit forward and face the front when they
started to move and wiggle
