SUBJECT FEEDBACK
WWW
The checklist you provided the students was very detailed and clearly
outlined the different tasks needed to be completed. Providing students a
visual representation of requirements is always a helpful tool, especially
when theres deadlines to be met for an Expo.
You roamed well throughout the learning space, supporting those students
who needed it and ensuring everyone is one task. This is a large group so
its always a challenge checking on everyone, especially when they are
spread out over so many different learning spaces.
You concluded the lesson with firm expectations for those students who
hadnt completed all tasks.
EBI
Just make your expectations are clear before sending students off to work
independently as to which areas they are allowed to work and how they
need to check in with you before they leave.
You displayed your Learning Intention and Success Criteria - especially
since the students were needing to have all aspects of the project
completed today.
WWW
You managed disruptions (mannequin video) and students being off task
really well.
Tool Time activity was fun, got students up and moving and was enjoyed.
The video was clear and helped consolidate the students understandings
from the previous lesson.
You explained the activity/worksheet clearly.
You stopped the class mid way to continue explicit teaching when you
recognised a need - this is so important.
You gave a follow up activity for those students who had finished early.
EBI
When you are modelling ensure all students have their eyes and full
attention on you.
Dont forget to be using the assessment doc to upload the students
progress throughout the unit.
WWW:
Learning Intentions and SC were clearly display for each of your lessons
this morning.
Firm expectations for student behaviour - you made sure all students were
focusing and listening before moving on.
Time Management - I could see you really trying to monitor this in each of
your lessons today so well done!
Numeracy - it was great to see you using the IWB and ActivInspire to
model the correct method for using a protractor. This provided students
with a visual representation to support their understandings.
Numeracy - unpacking the worksheet/correcting as a class. This enabled
the students to see their success immediately but also gave you an
opportunity to consolidate learning further.
Numeracy - it was really great to see you modelling some strategies
throughout the conclusion part of your lesson. This is so important -
maybe the students could have modelled the two different strategies for
calculating the reflex angle.
EBI:
Religion - Noise level was lower - When working with such a large group
of students, especially in a small space, its important to keep an eye on
the noise level.
Numeracy - think about using an online interactive tool/game to engage
and consolidate the students learning further.(Could even be set for
homework).
Modelling - when modelling on the board just ensure you have all
students attention otherwise the impact on learning is minimal.
FULL DAY Conferencing - Alex it was pleasing to see how quickly you gained
confidence leading the student conferences this morning. You prompted
students when necessary and provided lots of opportunities for students to
have input into their goal setting.
Numeracy - The lesson ran smoothly with all students engaged in the
activity. It was good to see you move away from using the traditional
worksheet as your follow up activity. Hands on, real life maths is always
much more engaging for the students to consolidate their understandings.
Using instructional videos can be a valuable teaching resource, however
ensure youre not relying on them too much to teach the explicit part of
your lesson. Again, you roamed well throughout the space, clarifying
information and supporting students understanding. You definitely
managed your time well this lesson allowing yourself enough time to
complete the concluding part of your lesson, which was positive to see.
EBI
You had modelled finding and measuring an angle before sending the
students to their independent task.
QUESTIONING TECHNIQUES
QUESTIONING TECHNIQUES
Religion
The students seemed a little unsettled at the beginning of the lesson,
however you managed this well by moving tables and organising the
students from Senior Red.
EBI - the prayer table had been the focal point of this part of the lesson.
Perhaps it could have gone into the middle of the classroom with the
students sitting around the table in a circle.
