Geometry- Angles

Learning Intention
I can use a protractor to accurately measure angles

Success Criteria
I will be successful if I:
Co-construct with students.
Understand the position of an angle does not change
its degree
Use a protractor to accurately measure angles
TOOL TIME- Zap- students to stand back to back and start walking,
teacher asks a question, first student to get it right turns and zaps
the other (by pointing an imaginary ward)- if the get it at the same
time who can zap who first?
Time- 60 minutes
Task
Discuss angles and the different sizes of these angles
Discuss misconceptions- misconceptions with using a
protractor from yesterday
Watch video
Discuss how to measure reflex angles
Digital protractor up on the IWB
Students to complete worksheet, (double sided- back is
extension)
Extension- find angles within the classroom- record and
measure
End of lesson- have students achieved success and cleared
misconceptions? Write down an achievement in workbook &
discuss
