In M.C. Mehta v. State of Tamil Nadu, it was held that children can be

employed in the process of packing, but the packing should be done in an area away

from the place of manufacture to avoid exposure to accident. The minimum wages for

child labour should be fixed. The tender hands of the young workers are more suited

to sorting out the manufactured product and processing it for the purpose of packing.
