Exercise 1.1: Create a New Dimension

Instructions
1. Login to the web administration tool and set the current Environment to
TRAINING_XX (Note: XX is your participant number).
2. Open the Dimension Library in SAP BPC Admin and create a new dimension
as specified below:
Name: GEO_XX (Note: XX is your participant number)
Description: Geography
Type: User defined
3. Populate the dimension with members representing geographic areas.
4. Process the dimension without taking the environment offline.

You have completed the Create a new Dimension exercise.

Exercise 1.2: Define New Hierarchies in a Dimension

Instructions
1. Open the Dimension Library in SAP BPC Admin.
2. Select the dimension GEO_XX created in Exercise 1.1 (Note: XX is your
participant number).
3. Add 2 hierarchies: The first hierarchy can be a geographic division, and the
second hierarchy can have business significance (i.e. technology diffusion by
geography).
4. Process the dimension without taking the environment offline.

You have completed the Create a Double Hierarchy in a Dimension exercise.
