Position: Desktop Analyst/Helpdesk
Department: IT FLSA status: Non-exempt
Work Schedule: 8:00am-4:00pm, M-F Status: Full-time
Job Category: PAT (Professional, Administrative, Technological)

Duties:
Ability to maintain flexibility of scheduling to meet priorities of various departments.
Ability to work with all members of all County departments in a courteous and
professional manner. Incumbent must have excellent communication skills and be very
organized and methodical in regards to inventory and tracking call for assistance utilizing
and maintaining the Helpdesk.

Incumbent performs duties in modern office environment. Incumbent must be able to lift
and carry IT related equipment. Incumbent must be able to stand for lengthy periods of
time.

Incumbent must have knowledge of Microsoft Productivity tools, such as MS Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Active Directory, as well as PC experience in
hardware maintenance and upgrades.

The incumbent must possess a minimum of A+ Certification. He/she will be required to


produce hardware-analyst techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to
determine software, hardware, or system functional specifications. This may involve
design, development, documentation, analysis, test and modifications of computer
systems.

Incumbent must have working knowledge of computer networks, preferably Network+


Certified. The incumbent will be encouraged to obtain a CCENT certification.

If incumbent transfers to any position with IT, they will have 6 months of probation to
attain the required certifications to perform their job. Likewise, if the incumbent is a new
hire, they will also have 6 months to attain the required certifications. All new hires are
obligated to a 9 month probation period.

Incumbent reports directly to and receives instruction/projects from the Director of ITS.
