Welcome to the latest edition of our best fm 2016 tactics series. This tactic is balanced and is
wonderful in defence and attack. Testing has been carried with Valencia as I fancied having closer
look at Gary Nevilles side who are currently struggling in the league.
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Formation
The formation is a 4-3-3, 4-5-1, 4-1-2-2-1 or whatever you wish to call it. The main feature of the
tactic is the advanced wide players, which are advanced playmakers and they proved to be fantastic,
they play in space usually tucked inside and cause havoc.
I think its quite a popular way of playing now for some wide players think of Willian at Chelsea for
example. Hes not an out and out winger, getting to the byline and putting in crosses, nor is he an
inside forward cutting inside and driving at defenders he can do both but he is mainly finding
space, creative and good on the ball basically a wide playmaker.
The advanced playmaker role fits this perfectly on FM 2016 and they contribute a lot to the teams
overall pattern of play. The striker bags most of the goals which is nice and the full backs get forward
a lot to support attacks.
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Team Instructions
These instructions were kept constant throughout the season for all matches. I kept it pretty simple
this time around, not too many instructions and its all self explanatory.
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Player Roles
GK Goalkeeper (Defend) Usual keeper
DR/DL Full back (Attack) Get forward to support attack well good pace, stamina and crossing
would be beneficial.
CD Central defender (Defend) Typical central defenders get the best you can.
DM Defensive midfielder (Defend) Stays between midfield and defence to try and close down
attacks and keep hold of the ball.
CM Box to box & cental midfielder (Support) quite similar in many ways. To decide which
midfielder to put in each role. I would put the one better on the ball as CM and one with more
stamina as box to box midfielder. Both will chip in with a few goals.
AMR/AML Advanced playmakers (Attack) Important players in the team, passing, vision and
dribbling ability are important.
ST Complete forward (Attack) Scores the goals, Negredo got 27 in 27 games in the league. An
all round striker is the best. Seems to get a good few chances in the air so heading ability is useful.
Pace, finishing and aerial ability would be a brilliant combination.

Pre-season

I changed focus between fitness and team cohesion during pre-season and sometimes changed
intensity to high but be careful you may get injuries.
During Season

This is the routine I used when the tactic was fluid. Im not saying its the best or only way but it
worked ok for me. For individual player training I trained them for the role they were playing in the
tactic.

Liga BBVA
A good season in the league, winning by 11 points and having the best goal difference.
Champions League

Tough quarter final draw against Bayern done for us in the Champions League. Two good wins over
Arsenal and solid group campaign were the high points.
Spanish Cup

We won the Spanish cup to make it a double winning season for Valencia. Highlights were victory in
the semi-final at the nou camp to knock out Barca and convincingly beating a strong Atletico side in
the final. All in all a pretty successful season two trophies won and some wonderful football on
display. Maybe a certain Mr Neville will come to ask for some advicehaha.
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Tinkermans Top Tips
Get the tactic fluid as quick as possible play at least 5 friendlies in pre-season and
dont have other tactics in the slots until this one is fluid. Placing this tactic in two or
more slots will improve time until it becomes fluid.
You need at least two players for each position, so build your squad with this in mind, if
you have a small budget, players who can play two positions are invaluable.
Use your AM or best coach with high tactical knowledge attribute for opposition
instructions.
Indvidual player instructions are crucial so you must download the tactic to get the best
results.

Hi guys
Welcome to my latest tactic in the best FM 2016 tactics series. The tactic testing as been completed
with Everton in the Premier League romping home to win the league title in style. Everton pose quite
a challenge due to the number injuries in the squad at the beginning of the season. However it was a
thoroughly enjoyable save using the two diamonds tactic. We scored the most and conceded the
least during the season. Further details and the downloadable tactic are available below.
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Formation
This tactic is called two diamonds because of the two diamonds formed by the front6 as you can
see above. The formation has a flat back 4 with one defensive midfielder just in front to shield the
defence and have another body back to help the central defenders when the full backs are up field.
The box to box midfielder is very important in helping defence and attack, the attacking midfielder
is also crucial these two are part of both diamonds and central to the teams success.

The team instructions above were used throughout the entire season with Everton regardless of the
opponent or situation.

coaches.

Welcome to the first edition of our best FM 2016 tactics series. If you like devastating attacks,
plenty of excitement and edge of your seat Football this is the tactic for you. Plenty of goals,
pressing Football and the odd red card, oh well you cant have it all.
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Formation
The system is based around the popular 4-1-2-3, or 4-5-1 as some prefer. The two central defenders
and half back are a security blanket, your shield in front of goalthe rest? Well its a bit chaotic with
complete wing backs bombing on the overlap, two attacking central midfielders making late runs into
the box, a false nine pulling defenders away and two marauding inside forwards with the freedom to
do as they please.
Sounds like a defensive nightmare I know, but that three man defensive shield keeps it all together
and every player is instructed to mark tightly and close down so they all do a job defensively.
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Team Instructions
I kept all instructions the same regardless of opponent, the only time you may feel the need to adjust
is if your opponent pack out the middle of the field and you keep losing possession as a result, then
playing a little wider may help, equally if you are worried about the number of bookings then take off
get stuck in. This is a pressing tactic that unsettles the opposition and includes some very physical
play.
Before we move on, please do not ask me to list the individual player instructions, I have made the
effort of making, testing and writing this tactic up, the least you can do is learn how to download it as
if you dont chances are the tactic wont work. The player instructions are very, very important and
that is why I have put this tactic up for download, to make sure they implemented properly.
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Player Roles
GK goalkeeper (defend) standard goalkeeper
CD central defender (defend) typical central defenders as ever, tackling, positioning, strength
and heading are key attributes, try and avoid slow centre backs as you can be in danger of the
counter attack and passes over the top.
DM half back (defend) This guy can drop back to form a three man defence or act as a shield in
front of your defence so he needs to tackle, head the ball, mark and pass. Defensive attributes are
best but an all round midfielder would be ideal.
CM central midfielder (attack) The complete midfielder would be ideal but players with great
physical ability and good speed are best, both CMs are instructed to get furtehr forward and dribble
more as well as move into channels. They must be able to pass and the better they are in front of
goal the more theyll score.
AMR/AML inside forward (attack) lots of goals and assists from these two players, they have a
lot of freedom and you need someone who has vision, flair, speed, dribbling and finishing ability. Also
off the ball is important as the ability to be lost in the box will make scoring easier. The better these
two are the more success you will gain and magician dribblers are preferred.
ST false nine (support) Possibly the hardest position to fill. This guy must do it all, he needs
speed, dribbling, flair and the usual finishing attributes. Off the ball is very important as is anticipation
but dont underestimate how good passing should be, this guy needs to pick out the inside forwards.

Premier League with Newcastle

Considering the weak defence I think 2nd is a great finish and we only lost three times. Some of
those draws were down to injuries and suspensions. This tactic can feel inconsistent with the odd
unexpected draw, these usually happen for a reason either a very important player was missing or
your side squandered too many chances.
Player Stats
The stats above prove how vital those inside forwards are, also note the wing backs assist record
they need to play a big part also.
Results with Roma
One save didnt feel like enough so I decided to test this in Italy and the results were great.
Considering we had a tonne of injuries to deal with the tactic performed almost perfectly. With
Newcastle I found the bookings and red cards bearable, but in Italy it was almost unplayable,
therefore I had to deselect get stuck in from team instructions, this worked almost instantly and
didnt damage the tactic.

Best FM 2016 Tactics: Top Tips

This has been tested for the BETA, we cannot predict whether this will work on full
release due to potential match engine changes.
 Note, this tactic can seem inconsistent at times, chances are you are watching in key
highlights mode and not seeing all the chances your players are missingif your
players are not creating chances then you do not have a suitable squad to use this
system.
As with any tactic it needs loading at the start of pre-season and dont sign a whole
new team, these two things will see you under perform not because of a poor tactic but
because of poor management.
Pre-season: General training team cohesion with medium intensity.
During Season: General Training balanced, Match Preparation take assistants
advice and judge by form.
For opposition instructions use your assistant manager or coach with best tactical
knowledge.
Be aware you need a decent size squadat least two players per position to allow for
injuries and bans.
You will commit a lot of fouls and have impact injuries, its the nature of the tactic. If
you struggle with bookings then deselect get stuck in from your team
instructions, but do not stop closing down.
If you do not have suitable players for the DR, DL, AMR, AML and ST then this tactic
will be hindered.

Welcome to our latest FM 2016 tactic, I hope your all enjoying this years game. It is definitely a
challenge to create decent tactics but I have got one for you here. It will get you plenty of goals from
your front two hence the name double trouble plus exciting football. Tactic testing has been
completed with West Ham during first season, winning the league by 7 points!!
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Formation

The formation is a and was based upon Tinkermans Magical 3-1-3-3 from FM 15. The back three
and defensive midfielder provide the main defensive roles and are instructed to close down less to
try and stay in shape and solid by not getting pulled out of position. The rest of the players or the
front 6 create and score the goals while also making some contribution defensively. As the name of
the tactic suggests the front two are goal machines, during the course of the season in all
competitions my strikers banged in over 100 goals between them. The midfielders will also chip in
some some goals and bags of assists especially the AMC (Payet) who got 26 assists in 44 starts.

The team instructions were fixed as above for the entire season and they are very simple really. I
have tried to not over complicate things here. We tried to pass the ball short and play out from the
back because too many long balls from the back wasting possession was frustrating me. Defensively
we dropped a little deeper to try and remain solid but also closing down at times and preventing the
opposition from playing out from the back through their GK.
Best FM 2016 Tactics: Player Roles
GK goalkeeper (defend) Usual attributes here, get the best one you can. However if you have a
small budget and an average GK he will be fine, I would spend the budget elsewhere.

CD central defender (defend) Obviously the usual defensive attributes are important, try to make
sure you have some pace back there as well as it really helps alot.

DM defensive midfielder (defend) Important attributes include workrate, teamwork, positioning,

tackling and strength etc.

CM central midfielder (support) Quite important player, he is essentially in midfield on his own at
times so must get through a lot of work and have the ability to help out the defence and support the
attack.

MR/ML wide midfielder (attack) Probably the most important players in the tactic. Use a right
footed player for left side and vice versa. These are basically inside forwards with a much deeper
starting position, they create goals and havoc for the opposition but also chase back and help the
defence.

AMC shadow striker (attack) Will chip in with goals and assists, must be able to finish and
provide key passes, look for finishing, composure, vision and passing.

STRC deep lying forward (support) Scores a load and will provide a lot for the other striker as
well.

STLC complete forward (attack) Have your best finisher/goalscorer here and a striker who can
create goals and pass as the DLF.

Premier league
A fantastic season for West Ham, winning the league with 86 points. Results got better as the
season went on, from mid December we only lost two games and became more consistent. Nothing
much to report in the cups, played a severly weakened team and got knocked out early to Chelsea
and Fulham. In the Europa League I also rested a lot of players, we got to the semi-final but the
journey ended there. Sandwiched between the two semi-final legs was a league defining game
against Spurs which we won 1-0 so a lot of players were rested for that.

These tips are really important if you want success with this tactic you must take these on board, but
dont worry they are really simple.

Get the tactic fluid as quick as possible play at least 5 friendlies in pre-season and
dont have other tactics in the slots until this one is fluid.
Pre-season training fitness (average), team cohesion (high) & tactics (average)
-rotate between these three. Match preparation match tactics with max focus.
During season training balanced (medium). Match preparation defensive
positioning with little focus (half a day). Allow rest after matches during season.
You need the right players so for example look to sell your full backs unless they are
capable of playing CD or LM/RM. Use the funds to buy players to suit the tactic and try
to get 2 players for each position.
Use a player with strong right foot ability on LM and vice versa.
Use your AM or best coach with high tactical knowledge attribute for opposition
instructions.
Set your AMC to take corners.
Indvidual player instructions are crucial so you must download to get best results.
Train players for the role and position if it is not their natural role and position.
Dont expect the record for fewest goals conceded or you will be disappointed but do
expect to score loads and win loads of games :)
