Welcome to Golden West College(GWC). Your application for admission has been processed and you
have been admitted to GWC. Please read through the information below to help you take your next
steps towards your academic success. Save This Email for Future Reference!

Golden West College website.
Golden West College utilizes a priority registration system that is in compliance with the California
Education California, Title 5 Code of Regulations for Community Colleges and SB 1456. GWC has
three levels of priority registration. In order to register in the first level priority registration group,
students must meet ALL of the State mandated requirements. See below for more information.
Step 1
ORIENTATION
Complete the online student orientation. Login to MyGWC>Student Tab>Online Orientation>Golden
West College Online Orientation to complete the online orientation. To login to the online orientation,
use your MyGWC user name and password (student ID numbers are not valid for orientation login).
Step 2
ASSESSMENT TESTING
All students must complete math and English placement testing or submit transcripts of prior college
coursework that meet the required prerequisites for math and English. For more information visit the

Step 3
COUNSELING
You need to meet with a counselor to complete a Student Education Plan (SEP), update your Course
of Study (major) and update your education goal. Visit the Counseling Services
<http://goldenwestcollege.edu/counseling/> web page for more information and appointment times.
REGISTRATION APPOINTMENT
Check your MyGWC account to view your appointment date and time (Student tab/Registration
Tools/Registration Status). You have been assigned a registration appointment for the summer and
fall terms. Summer appointments are available for viewing by mid-April and Fall appointment will be
available by mid-June.

DEGREE WORKS:
DegreeWorks is the degree audit and progress tracking system for Coast Community Colleges that
provides a more accessible, convenient, and organized way to assess your academic progress. You
may access DegreeWorks through your MyGWC account. For more information, visit the

PREREQUISITE CLEARANCE:
If you plan to use coursework from another college to meet enforced prerequisites, you will need to
bring a copy of your college transcripts (Official or Unofficial) with a completed "Prerequisite Clearance
Form" to the Enrollment Center. Submit the form and transcripts at least 10 days prior to your
scheduled registration date for review and processing. For more information and to download a form,

If you are interested in enrolling in other colleges within the Coast Community College District, you
may easily apply to Orange Coast College and Coastline College.
