A Conflict Between Censorship

As we know at the present, censorship has been take over our privacy in our diary life. It

used for breaching and taking control of the information or media that will be spread to a

community. For example, China are not allow to launch Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, or even

Google. But instead, they have their own social media such as Meipai, Meitu, and Baidu that was

created by Chinese organisation. It also happen in other countries which can be seen in many form.

To give an example that is except from China are North Korea, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cuba that

have a heavy restriction of freedom. Censorship is controlled by the government which occur in

every country. The purpose of censorship is to restricted the freedom of citizen from a speech to

remain the status quo. I believe that censorship contain both advantages and disadvantages

depending on how we think. According to dystopian novel called Fahrenheit 451 by Bradbury, the

people in the novel were banned to read book. All the books were burning because government does

not want them to read so there are 2 opinions that support and oppose the censorship in this society

which developed by Bradbury.

We must all be alike. Not everyone born free and equal, as the Constitution says, but

everyone made equal. This quote is spoken by Captain Beatty, the head honcho fireman who tried

to cite many reason to Montag why book should be destroy. The quote mean that citizen were made

to be equal in order to maintain the society. A book is a loaded gun in the house next door. means

that a book does provide people a knowledge which can make one to become better than the others

so that it became dangerous to the community. In this case, it is shows that captain Beatty is agree

that book should be prohibit from a society instead of keeping it.

Last night I thought about all the kerosene I've used in the past ten years. And I thought

about books. And for the first time I realized that a man was behind each one of the books. A man

had to think them up. A man had to take a long time to put them down on paper. And I'd never even

thought that thought before said Guy Montag, the man who take pride a third generation fireman.
He realise for the first time that people were spend time to write each page and it take a very long

time to publish a single book and then. it is all over when a single fireman burn all the book.

According to the book Fahrenheit 451, there are 5 similar cases in society which indicated

that people in the novel attempt to suicide frequently. We get these cases nine or ten times a night.

Got so many, starting a few years ago, we had this special machine built. said by the medical

technician who save Mildred from attempt to suicide by taking an overdose of sleeping pill. It occur

that there are problem in the community. According to many website, I conclude that people in the

society are colourlessness, dull, and unhappy because of the government limited their freedom to

express or have their own idea.

Even if I do believe that censorship have both advantages and disadvantages, I also do

believe that this society is not good for overall citizen in the novel. I understand that the purpose of

this censorship is to make people equal. However, too much boundary were created in the book and

the problem remain in the book without any improvement in a society.
