Recently, tensions are rising due to racial profiling in the news, but racial profiling can

be a useful tool in keeping America safe. Although, this may offend certain groups of people, the

safety of our country as a whole outweighs the hurt feelings of a portion of people. Many people

assume that all racial profiling is racist, but it is nothing but practical when backed up with

evidence, which is something that cannot be argued with. The use of racial profiling in the U.S.

is necessary because it helps enforce laws and keep American citizens safe.

First of all, racial profiling can help enforce laws in the U.S. The 4th amendment of the

U.S. Constitution protects citizens from an unreasonable search. Many Americans believe that

race is a probable cause, but they are mistaken in certain cases. Blacks committed 52% of all

homicides in the U.S. while only composing of the 13% of the population. It is blatantly obvious

that blacks are more likely to commit homicide than whites are, so a police officer has a probable

cause. Some refute the facts and call it racist, but you cant argue with the facts. If suspicion of a

group of people rises, it is better to investigate them and possibly offend them than to possibly let

a group of people commit crimes because we wanted to protect their feelings. There is definitely

a line that needs to be drawn when it comes to race, but racial profiling can be very helpful

depending on the situation.

Racial Profiling can be helpful, but can also be a problem. Racial profiling can

discriminate against minorities in certain situations. Concerning terrorism, the ...majority of

Americans fear Islam at some level even though the FBI says that 94% of Terrorist Attacks in

the U.S. Since 1980 Are by Non-Muslims. This may look like we have it wrong and that

muslims are being discriminated against for our suspicion. However we have evidence from the

Institute for National Security Studies that nearly every suicide terror attack was carried out

by Muslims. If we carry this evidence, the American government should have every right to

investigate this radical group of people. It is illogical for us to ignore important evidence that

could keep us safe.
