The book is wrote by Alex Sanchez, and the book is about Diego have the shadow of

Mac. Diego punches Fabio out while he was in school. Therefore, Diego lands himself on

probation. Since, Diego get into probation; Diego meet Vidas. After Diego though he can trust

Vidas enough, Diego would like to told Vidas that the shadow of Mac affect Diego become

unfriendly person. When Diegos mother remarried, Diego feel happy at first. Therefore, Diego

though his stepdad was loved his kid every much, but Diego found out his stepdad just like a

evil. Diegos stepdad rape Diego that make Diego feel confused that he was gay or not. Diego

get into his first fight for a boy look at him without blink the eyes, and Diego do not want any

boy to look at him like that. During probation time, Vidas suggested Diego should let all the

shadow of Mac expange in Diego life, so Diego can be the person he want to be. The shadow of

Mac should blotenn out in Diego life because the shadow of Mac can cause Diego lose temper,

distrust, and loneliness.

Kenny and Diego went to the mall food court and grabbed some pizza, and they seen

Guerrero was there with a group of girl. One of Guerrero buddies and three girls were looking at

Kenny and Diego;in the meantime, Guerrero walked past without noticing them and he glanced

in their direction and shouted out, they were my best friend. Therefore, Kenny know the

purpose of Guerrero say that, and he told Diego to ignore them. But these girl was asked Kenny

and Diego to hanged out with them. Since, they were not interested to hanged out with them, so

they were like go home. However, Guerrero wont let them go, and Guerrero said, you guy were

gay. Also, these girl were laughed at them. Diego punched Guerrero without thinking that was a

right way to do it or not. Against, Diego have been arrested, and he had been charged for fighted

a classmate. According to the Bait, On Saturday, he biked to work as usual and spent the day

stocking shelves and helping customers. The following day it rained, so instead of going to the

beach, he and Kenny went to a movie-an action oic that Diego enjoyed but that Kenny thought

was kind of gore-heavy. Afterward, they grabbed some pizza at the mall food court. Theyd just

finished eating when Kenny announced,Hey, theres Guerrero. (Sanchez 107). The comment of

that showed Diego and Kenny feel fun for the whole day, but they seen Guerrero was there and

seat with one boy and three girl. Therefore, They realized that guerrero will make fun of them.

Diego took a breath, trying to keep calm. He could feel the anger rising inside him, from his gut

through his chest, across his shoulders, and down into his curling fists, as he told Guerrero,

shut up. Dont mind him, Kenny urged, tugging on Diegos arm. He seemed to sense Diego

was about to lose his temper. Lets go! yeah, never mind me, Guerrero chided. Lets see

you guys hold hands. ( Sanchez 109 ). The purpose of Guerrero was to made Diego angry, and

Guerrero know Diego will punched him because Diego have the shadow of Mac. During that

moment, Diego was angry, and he very wanted to kill Guerrero. In an instant, Diego sprang

out at Guerrero, sending him reeling against the table and knocking over a chair. Unable to

control himself, Diego leaped on the top of him, pounding wildly with both fists. He punched

and clobbered him without thinking, unaware of the girls screaming or Gomez trying to pull him

off or Kenny shouting, Stop it, Diego! Let him go! Stop! (Sanchez 110 ). The purpose of

Guerrero have been succeed, and he know Diego will go to jail because of the fighted. Since,

Diego have gone to the jail, and Vidas was thinking of the reason why does Diego always got

into trouble.

During the time Vidas was leaving, Diego was thinking about should he told Vidas the

shadow of Mac or not. In the meantime, Diego want to get out of jail, and he know that he can

trust Vidas enough. He tell Vidas that Mac rape him when he was young, and he feel scary at

Mac. When Mac was suicide, Diego always have the dream about the shadow of Mac. Since,

Vidas help Diego get out of jail, and vidas will to help Diego solve his problem. Diego explain

the dream to Vidas, and Vidas told Diego to told the dream I love you and I have to leave you

now. Also, Vidas asked Diego did he told his mother about what does Mac done to him or not,

and Diego told Vidas wont believe me but Mac. Vidas told Diego to asked his mother to came

with him next time, and Vidas want to help Diego to build trust between his mom and him. When

the next meeting is coming, Diego told his mom that Mac have been rape him when he was

young. But his mom do not trust what does Diego have been told. Diego paused, waiting for

Vidas s reaction. Do you think Im crazy? No. Vidas shook his head. other people describe

leaving their bodies when raped. Diego flinched. Why had Vidas said raped? Rape was

something that happened to women, not guys.( Sanchez 122) The comment of that was Vidas

want to measure that Diego was scary Mac because Mac did something that was unhelpful stuff

that can cause the kid growth up like violence. Its took Diego a moment to get back into the

memory. It was like I floated outside, over the ocean. It was night and so quiet. And there was

this one shark, still circling the boat. It rolled onto its side and its eye looked up at me, like

blaming me. The comment of that was Diego was scary about the shark will hurt him like the

way that Mac did to him before. Diego have been dreaming the same dream for many time, and

he doesnt want this dream again. I didnt know what to say. Diego slumped back against the

holding cell wall. She saw my underwear stained and asked what Id eaten, as though Id eaten

something that made me bleed. So I told her, NO! Mac hurt me. She give me his blank look.

Then she raised her hand and slapped me, telling me not to ever say anything like that again.

( Sanchez 123). The comment of that was Diegos mom believe Mac more than his son because

Mac help them to American and they have a better life compare to the past. However, Diego feel

distrust to his mom because his mother feel distrust at Diego first. Also, Diego feel angry for told

the trust of Mac, and Diegos mom slapped him.

In the time that Diego go meeting, and Diego seen the family picture of Vidas. He think

that Vidas was gay. During the time he was in the mall, he seen Vidas was with a boy. He feel

angry when he realized that Vidas was gay. He dont mind that Vidas was gay, but he want Vidas

told him like the way that he told Vidas. Because the secret of Vidas, Diego become more angry .

When Kenny asked Diego how is going about his work, Diego give Kenny answer unfriend. And

Diego told Kenny that Vidas was gay. He think that he will become gay like Vidas, and Kenny

say you wouldnt be gay. Kenny said maybe Vidas was not gay, but Diego feel very angry when

Kenny defending at Vidas. Vidas say Kenny you was faggot too. After that, Kenny feel hurtful

and leave, and shouted I dont need anybody. Vidas didnt hear him as he sat his kids down at

a table. Just them, the blond guy who stood next to Vidas in the photo carried over a tray of food.

Something about how he leaned over Vidas, Joking with the kids, and the way Vidas and the kids

smiled back, so close, so at ease, stopped Diego in his tracks.( sanchez 178). The comment of

that was Diego was sure that Vidas was gay, and Vidas have been keeped his secret away from

him. Diego dont mind that Vidas was gay, but he want Vidas to be honour with him. Diego

nodded, eager to get home. But outside the store, Kenny was waiting for him on a mall bench. In

the wake of seeing Vidas, Diego had completely forgotten his plans to go with Kenny to a movie.

sup? Kenny said, standing to greet him. How was work? All right. Lool, I dont feel like

doing anything, Im going home. The comment of that was Kenny was waited too long for

Diego to get out from work and go watch movie with him, but Diego said he doesnt want do

anything or go elsewhere. Kenny know that something that wrong with him. Diego stared back

at him, his stomach churning with anxiety, and blurted out, Vidas is gay! Yeah, You are!

The works that followed shout out of Diegos mouth as though fired by an impulse beyond his

control. What, are you a faggot too? As Diego watched him walk away, his anger returned.

Go ahead, leave! he shouted, even as he felt his heart sink. I dont need you. I dont need

anybody.! The comment of that was Diego feel alone in this time because his angry made his

best friend to go away from him. Diegos temper is a big issue that made the people go away

from him. When Kenny leave him, Diego feel hurt inside his heart. Because Kenny was the

person who always support him.

The shadow of Mac made Diego life more badly when Diego was young, he had

been rape by Mac. When Diego think Vidas is the only person that he can be trust, Vidas has kept

a secret from Diego. Because Vidas has kept a secret from him, he got a bad emotion, and he

explored these bad emotion to Kenny. Kenny feel sad that Diego will said he was faggot! The

best way to control his emotion was to forget the shadow of Mac because Diego past have been

going so badly. Start a new life is forget his past.
