ABOUT UP CAPES
The UP Career Assistance Program for Engineering Students is a service organization by the students
and for the students. Working hand-in-hand with the College of Engineering, it designs and hosts
events that produce competent, self-assured graduates who shape their respective fields. Holding
service and excellence above all, our passionate members strive to create valuable new opportunities
that are accessible and attainable by every engineering student. Through our yearly Career Events
Series and the Engineering Jobfair, we equip students with vital skills, connections, and exposure
needed to qualify for their dream jobs.
VISION
UP CAPES is the country's premier career-oriented organization that, through the commitment of its
competent and united members, positions the UP College of Engineering as a globally competitive
institution geared towards nation building.
MISSION
UP CAPES instills in its members the values of competence, commitment, and community, to
empower them in creating opportunities through relevant campaigns and effective programs for the
holistic development of the college, in dynamic partnership with its esteemed affiliates.
STRUCTuRE
The Executive Board is the united decision-making body of UP CAPES, charged with setting direction
and goals for the organization. It is composed of the Administrative Body, which the President,
Executive Vice-President, and Vice Presidents belong to, and the Directorate Body. The Administrative
Body is tasked with presiding over matters that concern the entire organization, keeping in mind its
vision and mission, with the Vice Presidents heading their respective committees. The individual
Directors comprising the Directorate Body are tasked to supervise and handle specific projects in
fulfillment of their committees and the organizations goals.

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT TEAM
The Information Management Team (IMT) is unique in that it is not part of one of the four major
committees. Instead, it is handled directly by the Executive Vice President. The IMT is tasked with
designing and implementing an internal CAPES platform for data and document storage,
per-committee project management and the automation of repetitive processes that were previously
done manually (shift assignment, Resume Book compilation, etc).
MEMBERSHIP TEAM
The Membership team takes care of all matters that involve the members of UP CAPES. It organizes
events to promote holistic development and ensures participation among all members. Moreover, the
team is also concerned with the secretariat part of the committee - organization of the organization
database, information dissemination to all members, alumni relations, and corporate social
responsibility.
FINANCE TEAM
The Finance team manages the organization's budgets and financial documents. This team ensures
that all investments are beneficial to the organization and its partners. Its members also handle the
preparation of MOAs and official invoice statements.
ACADEMIC RELATIONS
The Academic Relations arm aims to bridge the gap between the students and the different academic
organizations that cater to their needs and interests. This arm also ensures that scholastic opportunities
for the student body, both local and international, are accessible.
CORPORATE RELATIONS
The Corporate Relations arm communicates and maintains good relations with the organization's
corporate partners. This arm also expands our network by seeking new companies that students want
and exploring growing industries.
MARKETING OPERATIONS
The Operations arm collaborates with other teams and committees to create and maintain systems and
procedures that will enable the efficient and effective functioning of the Corporate Relations and the
Academic Relations teams. This arm ensures that all UP CAPES output expected by external partners
is delivered on time and excellently.
SEMINARS TEAM
The Seminars Team is in charge of the planning, implementation, and post-evaluation of the Seminars
Series and Seminars Challenge. This team should ensure proper coordination between all the
committees, and should constantly improve the service level in all seminars.
JobFAIR TEAM
The Jobfair Team is in charge of the planning, implementation and post-evaluation of the annual
CAPES Jobfair. This team should ensure proper coordination of committees, and should conceptualize
innovations to improve the quality of service of CAPES during Jobfair.
OPERATIONS TEAM
The Operations Team is in charge of all procurement and documentation of all CAPES external events.
This team ensures the quality and feasibility of all Seminars and Jobfair deliverables. This team also
handles all adhoc seminars throughout the year.
SEMINARS TEAM
The Seminars Team is in charge of the planning, implementation, and post-evaluation of the Seminars
Series and Seminars Challenge publicity and publications. This team should design publicity and
ensure its efficient information dissemination, and should work closely with other committees to ensure
the branding of UP CAPES.
JobFAIR TEAM
The Jobfair Team is in charge of the planning, implementation, and post-evaluation of the UP CAPES
annual Jobfair and UP CAPES Week publicity and publications. This team should design publicity and
ensure its efficient information dissemination, and should work closely with other committees to ensure
the branding of UP CAPES.
TECHNICALS TEAM
The Technicals team manages information needed for promotional materials and publications. It takes
charge of the quality control of the non-aesthetic technicalities of promotional materials. This includes
all written works related to the publicity and publications of UP CAPES. The team also manages photo
and video documentation, takes charge of video publicity, and manages the UP CAPES website.
