computadoras Mac

Las computadoras de la empresa Apple, las Mac son menos
vulnerables a las amenazas de malware que las que cuentan
con Windows, pero eso no quiere decir que sean inmunes. La
semana pasada, se dio a conocer la existencia de un virus que
ya ha afectado al menos a 17 mil equipos en todo el mundo.

El malware conocido como iWorm, pero cuyo nombre real es

Mac.BackDoor.iWorm, ha sido descubierto por la compaa de
seguridad ciberntica rusa Dr. Web.

La forma en la que dicho virus se instala en los equipos no est

clara, pero lo que s se sabe es que crea una puerta trasera en
los equipos que podran dar acceso a datos as como a poder
ser usados junto a otros equipos dentro de una botnet para
acciones tan diversas como ataques DDOS contra un servidor
objetivo entre otros usos. Adems, despus de obtener la
informacin IP en Reddit, permite a los atacantes controlar el
ordenador de forma remota.

Ante esta situacin, Apple ha lanzado una actualizacin de su

sistema antimalware Xprotect que es capaz de reconocer dos
variantes de este iWorm as como prevenir de su instalacin en
los equipos Mac.

No obstante, se sabe que el propio iWorm tiene un error que

permite al usuario saber si su Mac est infectada. El virus crea
una carpeta en el sistema operativo OS X, por lo que cualquier
persona puede comprobar si existe tal carpeta alojada en el
sistema.

Cmo saber si se est infectado

Para saber si se encuentra en un equipo este malware, hay

que conocer las dos rutas dnde se instala:

/Library/Application Support/JavaW

/Library/LaunchDaemons

Para acceder a ellas podemos utilizar el Finder o usar el men

Ir a de la barra de men de Finder (atajo de teclado Mayscula
+ comando + G). Una vez hayamos accedido, debemos escribir
la primera ruta que hace referencia a la carpeta JavaW. Si todo
est bien, esta carpeta no debe de existir.

De no ser as, es necesario eliminarla ya sea manualmente o

buscar alguna alternativa como las aplicaciones de Intego.

La carpeta /Library/LaunchDaemons no se debe de modificar a

menos que JavaW exista. En ese caso hay que eliminar el
archivo que inicia iWorm enseguida de arrancar el sistema.

1. Open "Mackeeper v1.8.1 by Orangey989898.dmg"
2. Open "Mackeeper 1.0.1+patch"
3. Drag "MacKeeper" into "DRAG HERE"
4. Open MacKeeper
5. Restart Your Computer

Step 2: Read carefully the instruction

You find the instruction in the downloaded folder. Just do the following steps:

1. Open the Mackeeper v1.8.1.DMG (Mackeeper v1.8.1 by Orangey989898.dmg)

2. Then open the Mackeeper 1.0.1+patch

3. Look at DRAG HERE, drag Mackeeper into that, then open Mackeeper and
restart your Mac.

10. Take off the internet cable or turn off wifi, restart your computer. Just make sure
that your Mac is not able to access the internet after restarting.

Preferences> Click Security> Click the Firewall tab>Choose the third mode:

Set access for specific services and applications:

+, Now you could click the + button to add an application to this list. And
then you can select an application and click the - button to remove it.
Control-clicking on the application name gives you the option to reveal the
applications location in Finder.

+, Therefore, when youve added an application to the list, you can choose
whether to allow or deny incoming connections for that application. You can
even add command line applications to this list.
