Reflection
These two weeks were very busy weeks inside the classroom. Since balancing is challenging for many of the students,
I made 2 new strategies they can use to help them on balancing homework. We also had many days where I was very
interactive with the students so that they could finish the unit with without any problems. The most challenging part
was moving on to the next unit, since we were doing both reaction types and balancing at the same time. Because
the reaction type examples were not balanced, I had to teach them how we always have to balance the reactions.
The last 2 days were when Mrs. Martioski was absent. Since the Substitute teacher did not know much of the topic
and the learning routines of the class, I taught the class for the whole period for both days. Since they were mostly
notes, Instead of just reading off the notes, I asked the class how to balance the given example, Why does Oxygen
always have a 2, etc. etc.
By Substituting for Mrs. Martioski, we were able to get all the notes done a lot before end of class, where the
students did their assigned homework. Same with friday, I was able to finish the foldables very quickly so that I the
class could do their homework

In these 2 weeks, I was able to confirm my improvement as a teacher assistant, by being able to teach the class no
problem even when Mrs. Martioski is not available. Every student listens to me and focuses on their work. I
constantly ask the class if they have any questions so that I can make sure that everyone understands what is going on
and if how I am teaching is effective or not and if I should somehow change the way I am teaching.
