Dear Hiring Manager,

I am interested in the works of the Federal way school district education in the opening
teacher's position. I believe I can bring great things into the staffs well needed diversity. The
reality is that there is a large lack of diversity within our school system. Yet the majority of the
student population is quite diverse. We need the teachers to resemble the student body, so that
the students themselves see themselves in a positive way. I want to extend my teaching skills
throughout the school campus.
This position is of interest to me not only to provide more diversity within the school district but
to also take in place the first steps to mobilize the better future for people of color in a society
that is set against their favor, whether it intentional or not, our children will be the next
generation to see a world . One must begin by directing the young generation into forming a
brighter and inclusive society.

I am also looking forward to dismantle what is known as the Banking concept. Essentially being
when the there metaphorically deposits their own information and knowledge into the student.
Where the environment creates a form of hierarchy between the students and teachers. I
believe that this ideology of teaching would in actuality impact the students learning negatively. I
am able to bring new and improved learning techniques that would benefit the student.

To further address the importance of people of color representation within the school district. As
mentioned previously the majority of the district population is in fact students of color. Yet the
number of staff members that are People of color is very low. This low representation affects the
student's level of success, and as an education system we aim for our students success. I am
able to contribute as an inspiration for students, a real life image of someone they can become,
instead of falling within the system's cracks and failing into a bad lifestyle.
On a more self analytical level, I will be a perfect fit for your school district with my responsibility
and resilience. I am organized and never fail to accomplish my best. During my previous
experiences as a catechist teacher at my local parish, Holy Spirit located in Kent, Washington, I
effectively demonstrated these skills. I also volunteered as a teacher's assistant at Nautilus
Elementary my senior year of highschool. Not only do I have experience teaching course load, I
also taught for a year the dances of traditional Mexican folklore. I have a wide range of teaching
skills from faith, educational and dance.
