ABSTRACT

Removal of waste from the surrounding areas fit for human

habitation in order to sustain the publics wellbeing, a challenge
that the Solid Waste Management practices were initially
proposed to take in hand these problems. After understanding
the hazards of uncontrolled disposal, measures were created and
put into practice. Reorientation in Solid Waste Management
systems toward sustainability is now a global thrust and Asian
countries are deeply involved in this transition, emphasizing
sustainability and economic condition.

The studys objective is to evaluate the 10-year Solid

Waste Management Plan of Navotas City. The researcher
identifies the practices on the implementation of the plan. The
study used the different stakeholders as respondents, namely,
households of the 14 barangays, occupants of profit-making
establishments, and workforce of different scholastic institutions
and commercial industries. Together with this respondents are
the implementers of the solid waste management plan.

A 4-Likert scale survey instrument was used in data

gathering. This contains areas for evaluation which are related
to: Performance Objectives, Monitoring and Evaluation and
Corrective Actions. The data were analyzed using stochastic
frontier regression. Focused group discussion was done to verify
and check on the responses form the distributed instrument.

Findings show the level of efficiency on the different Solid

Waste Management Practices of the respondents in compliance
to the objectives and purpose of the SWM Plan.

The main output of the study is a new program/plan
