List of all the action that the Delhi Government and other relevant

authorities within the NCR have undertaken to prevent and tackle dengue
(both independent of, and in response to the Court's directions) over the last
few years i.e. since AAP has been in power.

Every year, Delhi's residents are affected by mosquito-borne diseases like dengue
and chikungunya. Despite hosting the countrys policy making institutions, the
State finds itself often paying a heavy price on account of these diseases. Right to
Health being a directive principle of state policy makes it imperative for the state
to take quick and prudent actions to cope with this menace.

The Government (AAP) has taken the following actions to tackle dengue after
taking power in 2015.

the Aam Aadmi Party government worked on a Chinese proposal in which


genetically modified mosquitoes were used to counter female breeding
mosquitoes. These mosquitoes would be mated with dengue-causing female
members of the same species to "root out" the threat of the vector-borne
disease.
The municipal bodies were directed to ensure that there is no stagnation of
water and cleanliness is maintained.
Grappling with the worst dengue outbreak in five years, Delhi government
Denissued a blanket order giving its hospitals powers to employ more
doctors and nursing staff and directed private hospitals to increase bed
capacity to deal with rising cases of the vector-borne disease.
private hospitals were warned of strict action if they turn away any dengue
patient.
Private hospitals were asked to increase capacity by 10 to 20%.
AAp officials met private medical practitioners in the city to start fever
clinics, which would provide treatment to dengue patients for free
AAP workers went on a door-to door survey at homes to find out the dengue
situation.
A dedicated Dengue control cell was instituted at the Directorate General of
Health Services to conduct dengue-related measures
Charges for Dengue tests have been capped for all private labs
As construction sites are very probable to breed mosquitoes, Delhi Govt
asked for Reports on construction sites across the city from MCDs within 2
days along with what action has been taken against them.
workshops were organised on July 24 2016 to sensitize doctors and polio
coordinators regarding dengue control and management at Delhi Secretariat.
IEC corner was installed for dengue awareness campaign with
demonstration of various stages of Aedes mosquito and distribution of IEC
material.
the government has assigned the Domestic Breeding
Checkers (DBCS) to prevent growth of mosquito larvae
Dengue death Review committee was constituted in order to review the
deaths that have taken place due to the menace
supervisors have been identified to control mosquito breeding in their
respective premises
Training programmes have been initiated to better equip the volunteers,
officers and supervisors to fight the rising cases of dengue.
All blood banks were asked to organize more blood camps and directed to
keep adequate amount of blood bags, logistics and screening kits and display
the daily status of the stock of blood
