EverydaySarahandhermomwouldflyoverthewaves,divingintoeatthesmall
fishandcrabsthatswamintheshallowwater.Sometimespeoplewouldfeed
Sarahandhermotherasandwichorsomepotatochips.Theyalwayshadalotto
eat.

Atnight,Sarahandhermotherwouldrestundertheroofofanearbybuilding.
Theywerewarm,andtheyhadanicelife.

Butonedayitstartedtogetcolder.Thelittlefishthatwerealwaysswimmingin
thewaveswerealothardertofind.Therewerenomorepeoplecomingtothe
beach,sonoonewastheretofeedSarahandhermotheranysandwichesorchips.

Itistimetoflysouthforthewinter,saidSarahsmom.

peopletogivethemsandwichesandchips.Sarahsmomevenfoundanewroof
forthemtosleepunder.

Ilikethisotherhome,saidSarah.Itiswarm,andwehavefood.Thisisanice
placetoo.

Itoldyouitwouldbenice,saidSarahsmom.AndwhenitgetswarmerinNew
Yorkagain,wewillgoback.Thatisthenicepartaboutbeingabird.Wecanflyto
newplaceswheneverwewant.
