Computing Infrastructure Management Division (NCIM)

Functions of the Division 1. Manage the operations of strategic and critical government ICT
infrastructure to ensure the secure, reliable and efficient delivery of
key services;
2. Ensure reliable and secure operations, leveraging private sector
capacities whenever possible;
3. Provide technical support to private sector partners providing
government ICT infrastructure; and
4. Manage the internal network and databases, and perform the
needed tasks to configure, maintain and monitor the network and
database infrastructure to ensure availability of all systems for the
ICTO personnel and its clients.

Govt IDC (G-Cloud) , Govt Network Resources: Govt Shared Network,
Govt Super Wi-Fi, Call Center Ng Bayan, etc.
Position Engineer II (ENGR2)
Salary Grade 16
Position Summary Under the general supervision of the ENGR4, the ENGR2 provides
technical and administrative support to the planning, implementation,
communication, monitoring, and evaluation of programs, projects, and
activities of the section.

Educational Bachelors Degree in Engineering Relevant to the Position

Key Functions 1. Undertakes activities requiring application of technical
knowledge, skills, and experience
2. Reviews, evaluates, and monitors projects and activities
3. Provides administrative and technical assistance
4. Performs tasks as may be assigned.
Essential Duties & 1. Program and Service Delivery (100 %)
Responsibilities a. Maintains and operates the Government Data Centers (GDC)
 ensuring security, reliability and efficiency of government
facilities;
b. Configures, coordinates and monitors the operations of
governments national IP network and database infrastructure to
ensure availability of all systems for government agencies;
c. Maintains and monitors the government fiber optic networks in
Metro Manila ensuring reliability and efficiency of government
networks;
d. Maintains and operates the ICTO internal network and databases
infrastructure to ensure availability of all systems for the ICTO
personnel and its clients;
e. Implements the ICT Security Policy, a Network Usage Policy, a
Network Disaster Recovery Plan consistent with government
policies and standards
f. Assists in Implementing network solutions for governments
national IP network for optimal performance and handle
configuration management to satisfy user demands
g. Provides technical inputs to the development and
implementation of systems in order to operate strategic
infrastructure like G-Cloud, Government Network resources,
Government Shared Network, Government Super WiFi, Call
Center ng Bayan etc
h. Participates in research studies on management of strategic
infrastructure trends and opportunities and prepare
recommendations for approval of the ICTO leadership
i. Maintains and updates the modules for Operational
Management of Strategic Infrastructure
j. Participates in the review, and evaluation of the operational
performance of management systems and recommends
improvement changes when necessary
k. Provides technical support in the review/evaluation of internal IT
equipment acquisition and IT/IS projects

Other Duties Provides technical input needed for a more responsive

participation in intra-agency and inter-agency committees
Performs other functions as maybe assigned
