AGREEING WITH POSITIVE / NEGATIVE
STATEMENTS

Look and analyze carefully each picture.

SO / TOO. AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES

EITHER / NEITHER . NEGATIVE SENTENCES
 SO and TOO are used to show agreement
with positive statements.
 So

SO +auxiliary (Verb)+ Subject (pronoun)

I am happy. So am I.

I'm going to Brazil in the summer. So

am I.
You look nice today. So do you.

Stephanie has a new boyfriend. So

does Mary.
We went to the concert last night. So did
I.
 AGREEING WITH POSITIVE STATEMENTS
The auxilary needs to agree in tense with the
verb of the original sentence
PRESENT SIMPLE
Example :
I am hungry So am I.
I like this sweater So do I
My father likes this car So does mine.
I am afraid of spiders so am I ( yo tambin)
You look great So do you or You too.(T
tambin)
PAST SIMPLE
She loved her pet So did we
MODALS
He can swim, So can I
Examples:
I am happy. You are happy
- I am happy and you are too
- I am happy and so are you
 Another posibility is using : too
I like video games and like them too
My brothers like football and I love it too.
or ME TOO.
 Too

Too is usually at the end of the sentence.

Subject (pronoun) + Verb +object + too

I am happy too.
I am going to Brazil too.
You look nice too.
Mary has a new one too.
I went to the concert too.
Neither and Either are used to show agreement
with negative statements.
 Agreeing with a negative statement
NEITHER + AUXILIARY + SUBJECT
The auxilary needs to agree in tense with the verb ofthe
original sentence
PRESENT SIMPLE
I am not hungry Neither am I ( Yo tampoco)
I dont like this song Neither do I
My mum doesnt like this song Neither does mine
PAST SIMPLE
They didnt like this movie Neither did we

MODALS
He couldnt swim Neither could I
 Neither
Neither + Auxiliary + Subject (pronoun)
I am not hungry. Neither
am I.

They don't speak French. Neither do I.

He won't stop talking. Neither

will you.

You shouldn't talk in the movie. Neither

should you.
 Another possibility:Either
I wont pass my test andYou wont either
(always uses the verb in the negative)
Neither will you

The Auxiliary needs to agree with the verb tense in t

original statement. Either is at the end of a sentenc
