Rough Draft of Poem

Theme: Abortion
Reading: Wisdom 18:5-8 (NABRE) When they determined to put to death the infants

of the holy ones, and when a single boy has been cast out and saved. As a reproof,

you carried off a multitude of their children and made them perish all at once in the

mighty water. That night was known beforehand to our ancestors, so that, with sure

knowledge of the oaths in which they put their faith, they might have courage. The

expectation of your people was the salvation of the righteous and the destruction of

their foes. For the same means with which you punished our adversaries, you

glorified us whom you had summoned.

Reflection: Abortion is a very tough and delicate subject; many people are very

confused about what they should do. Abortion is terrible and we should make the

right choice for ourselves and God. We have the precious gift of life that God gives

us and we should cherish it. Seeing a child grow up is a very special time and

people who decide to kill their unborn child will never see that. I know in some

situations you feel obligated to abort the child but you should keep the baby. All

children are a gift from God and they need to know the world as we know it.

Prayer: Dear God, help us to make the right choices for you and ourselves. You put

people into our lives for a reason and we should keep them here. We hope you can

help us make the right decision in our lives. We thank you God for giving us the gift

of life, we ask you to forgive us for making the wrong decisions.
