COUNSELING
* cognitive-behavioral therapy can be used-this therapy as we described in
class is when the therapist convinces and helps the patient/client to think positively in
order to change their behaviors
* interpersonal therapy can also be used this type of therapy focuses on a
person's relationships and social roles
*problem-solving therapy can be used as well this therapy is very similar to
the cognitive-behavioral therapy because it works to teach people skills to help
them take more initiative in their lives
*computer and/or internet based therapies- this is a type of psychotherapy
but on a computer program. It can use an app for health information and tools as
well as consult doctors.
*and lastly electroconvulsive therapy and other brain stimulation therapies
can be used. These provide relief for people with depression who have not felt
better through other treatments The patient is put under anesthesia and is given a
muscle relaxant the patient sleeps through the treatment not able to feel the
electrical impulses.
Another therapy that could work is psychoanalytic therapy. This is because the cause of
the depression could be in the patient/client's unconscious mind

This statistic shows that 60% of people do not receive any treatment for their depression
