V17.00

New Features
Roads
Model Viewer
o Linemarking
Includes dedicated Linemarking tools.
You can now set up your own linemarking styles and apply them to
any alignment, including setting your own regions and linemarking
offsets
o Cut Outs
Enables rapid inclusion of light-weight objects, such as trees. A cut-
out is an opportunity to render an image, like a tree, onto a flat panel
that faces the user. This gives a realistic tree representation, without
the overhead of managing 3D objects

Enhanced Features
Roads
Vertical Grading Editor Grid Editor Form
o The Grid Editor form provides a grid view of the vertical grading design,
listing each IP and providing a range of editing options in the spreadsheet. A
Grade Back column has been added, to enable changing the grade from an
IP to the previous IP. Previously you could only change the grade from an IP
to the next IP.
Cross Section Plots
o You now have a tick box option to set fixed row spacing, to align rows of
sections on each sheet.
o When applying Variable Section widths to an alignment, a minimum width
can be set and will be applied when the alignment offset is less than the
minimum or the alignment isnt found at a section.
o When a Title Block is added, by default the imported drawing file is inserted
as a block. There is now a tick box to explode the title block on import.
Create/Edit Template
o The help images on the forms have been revamped, and change based on
the mouse hover over the different inputs.

Resolved Issues
Alignments
In BricsCAD, after creating an alignment the arc segments would not display in the
correct location and the Redraw Alignments command needed to be used to
reposition them correctly. This has been fixed.

Pipes
House connection initial and final drops were not being applied.
In some instances catchments couldnt be attached to pits. This issue has been
addressed.

Roads
Design Data Form
o The Copy Codes function performance has been improved
Vertical Grading Editor
o Edit IP for back-to-back curves
If you edited the elevation of an IP containing a vertical curve that
started/ended at another vertical curve, the elevation change was not
applied
Cross Section Plots
o If Dimension Labels were added and the arrow method is set to Filled
Triangle, the arrows showed in the wrong position
o In the Basic Settings > Datum Specification form, setting the Datum selection
to anything other than Lowest Point resulted in unexpected presentation
results
o The Variable Section Width form was not updating the alignment list when
new alignments were created, unless the CAD software was closed and
reopened.
o In the pre-set Bands list, CSD Built Models was not listed. The only way to
add a CSD Built Model was by using the +Band button
o Turning on crossfall display for an existing surface resulting in crossfall labels
left and right of the centreline only. Now crossfalls display at all sections of
the existing surface, where there is space to display use the Crossfall Label
Overrides to force overlap of labels or label resize where there is insufficient
space.
o Turning on crossfall display for the CSD Built Model band would alter the
display of the CSD built model on the sections.
o Plot to file was generating duplicate linework in the otuput
Grading Strings
o Triangulation doesnt always get generated if the polyline is drawn clockwise
o Some grading shapes did not automatically add an outer boundary. This has
been improved to automate boundary assignment in more cases.
o Editing a grading string would result in Auto Model ignoring kerb returns.
Running Auto Model corrected the problem. This issue has been resolved.
Long Section Plotting
o If you clicked on the OK or Close button, and a Section List was not first
selected, an error message would result.
Section Manager
o If you clicked on the OK or Close button, and a Section List was not first
selected, an error message would result.
Model Builder
o A message would display about truncating roads because kerb strings
werent created, even if only one road is in the project. This message has
been suppressed if only one Road string has been created.
o You can now graphically select a Grading String to edit previously it did not
identify the string as a valid selection
o When trimming codes on Grading Strings, then linework did not update until
you had saved and exited the Model Builder interface.
V17.00

Delete and Undelete Road

o Deleting and undeleting a road did not reassociated kerb returns to the
intersection.
o Run Auto kerb returns or Create/Edit Kerb Return to re-associate the kerb
returns to the intersection.

Known Issues
Roads
Cross Section Plots
o Explode Title Block is ticked on
If Explode is ticked on, and objects in the title block already have
xdata on them, changing the title block to apply will result in these
objects not being deleted from each sheet. If this occurs, delete the
title blocks, close the software and restart to clear the problem.
Grading
o You must apply a template to the grading if you expect boundaries to be
applied
o Boundaries (and trimming) is not correctly applied if you include curve/s in
your source grading CL polyline, and the offsets to codes extend beyond the
radial point of the curve/s
o Grading is designed to do overlap correction between adjoining lines it will
not resolve overlap where intermediate lines/curves would need to be ignored
in order to find an intercept point.
Cross Section Plots
o CSD Built Models
If the trimming of the CSD Built Model (in the Configure form) is not
set to use the cross section extents, then nothing will display for the
sections of the CSD Built Model.
Intelligent Sections
o Ticking on the box to emulate the batter conditions for both cut and fill
situations will not work for fill situations, except where the user has set a
negative value for the minimum value on any conditional elements.

Pipes
Add Catchment Compute Tc
o When compute Tc is ticked on and the user selects a polyline from the
drawing (or draws one) the slope value will report NaN instead of a value if
the drawn polyline goes outside the Design surface. This affects AutoCAD
and BricsCAD customers only user type in off slope is required
Create Services - Polylines outside the Existing and Design surfaces
o If polylines are snapped onto or outside the surface and used to create
services, expect errors with the elevaitons assigned to any pipes/pits outside
the surface.

Tables (BricsCAD Customers Only)

If you cannot create BricsCAD tables from the Advanced Road Design table
output commands, there is an option to revert to standard CAD entity tables. The
process is:
Open the Active Drawing Settings > Styles Tab
Tick on the option Draw Tables as Lines and Text
When you select table output, the pick list of available table styles will change to
match with the ARD Table Styles you have set up.

About Editing the BricsCAD Table output ARD Table Styles

Users can edit the table output by opening the file ardtablestyles.txt in the ARD
Settings folder this table sets out the text font, text heights (and row heights) for the
title, headings and data rows. Edit in Notepad as required: A view of a sample file is
below for your reference and to see the format of the file
