TECSUP- PURDUE
PURDUES STUDENTS
MAY 2017
My name is James Adams, and Im currently a sophomore in the brand
new Cybersecurity course here at Purdue. Im a member of the Purdue Virtual
Reality Club and Chief Engineer at Wiley Radio. Ive been working with
computers since I started learning programming in middle school, and Im
always willing to experiment with the latest trends in the tech sector. I think
learning app development with Peruvians is a perfect way to improve my skills
in programming, leadership and team management.
If you look for me in my spare time, you can find me reading and
listening to music. Ive been to Mexico, the UK, France, and Canada so Im well
versed in traveling to other countries. Peru is a great choice since it lets me
utilize my 3 years of Spanish experience from high school, and it serves as the
perfect follow up to my trip to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. Peruvian culture
sounds like a fresh new experience and Im excited to join this trip.
My name is Sienna Bates. I will be a sophomore this coming fall. I am
currently majoring in Computer Information Technology and also pursuing a
minor in Business Management.
Outside of the classroom I am involved in a few clubs on campus such as the
Women in Technology club, WiTty Sisters, and the Disney Appreciation club.
The biggest thing that impacted my decision of being CIT major was
my father and Purdue has one of the best programs for it. I was a little
unsure if it was the right major for me at first, but I have learned so much
my first year and enjoy it more than I ever thought possible. I never had any
prior coding/programming experience before college, but I really enjoy the
hands on experience and learning environment in order to create different
applications with my classmates. I really enjoy the idea of getting to break
things down to see how they work and how they can be improved. I have a
very strong work ethic and love building strong connections with the people
I work with, in and outside of the classroom.
When I have free time, I really enjoy learning about food and cooking. I
have always had a passion for food since I was a kid. I attribute that to not
having cable and when there werent Saturday morning cartoons playing, Food
Network would be on or some cooking show on PBS. Being able to travel to
Peru would allow to try the cuisine of the region as food and culture would be
the main reasons I travel.
My name is Benya Chongolnee and I am currently a sophomore
studying Computer and Information Technology. I hope to focus on data
analytic and web developing in my future career. With that being said, I am
also minoring in Management and Organizational Leadership Supervision.
Apart from school work, I also work part time at Krannert School of
Management as a web designer. School and work fills up a lot of my time;
however, I am a Vice President of membership and PR for The National
Society of Collegiate Scholars at Purdue University and a secretary for
Purdue Polytechnic Institute Dean's Undergraduate Advisory Council as well.
I am from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois but is very much in love with
the west coast. I dream of living on the west coast one day. I get fascinated
by all things social media and how fast information can travel to a different
part of the world. Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are my go-to
websites when I am procrastinating. I also enjoy painting, traveling, as well
as hanging out with my family and friends during my free time. I try to eat
healthy, but also love junk food way too much to give that up. My favorite
food varies from Asian food to Italian food; however, I do not eat beef at all. I
love water and I could spend hours doing water activities.
Lastly, I love exploring new places, and I cannot wait to explore Peru
and its culture.
My name is Jane Commerford and I am currently a freshman at Purdue
studying Computer & Information Technology. I chose to come to Purdue
because of its strong academic standing and welcoming environment. The
strong staff and encouraging classmates facilitate valuable academic growth. I
intend to use my degree in CIT to pursue a career that is challenging and
interesting where I can use critical thinking skills.
I was born in Alexandria, Virginia, and lived in Kansas City, Kansas for the
past nine years before coming to Purdue for school. I have always had a
passion for music, and have played the flute for 8 years. I have participated in
various ensembles including symphonies, bands, and pit orchestras, and
currently play with the Purdue Wind Ensemble. Other than music, I also enjoy
reading, hiking and camping, and traveling.
Other than work or study time, I would like to play computer games,
hang out with friends and traveling. This is the first time for me traveling to
South America, I have seen a lot of beautiful pictures of this land. I am sure I
will have a wonderful experience there both on study and tour. Hope be there
soon!
Hello everyone, my name is Li Shen and I am from Shanghai, China. I

pursue my master degree on related fields. One of the goals for me is to work

by many of things. Firstly, I want to improve my technical writing skill and I
want to improve myself on communicate professionally. Secondly, I can get
more experience on technical writing about critical thinking. When I have some
leisure time, I like spending time with my friends. Also, I like spending time
coding, playing video games and playing the violin. Hope we all have a good
