Enforce the Copyright

Have you ever imagined violating a law as a habit, because Copyright Laws
are almost to that point in China. The problem doesn't only exist in China,
whenever a Project entered China, they didn't receive enough protection as they
should get. That is mainly because, in China, the Chinese Copyright laws are not
getting enough value as they should get. Therefore, the violation of Copyright
laws does more harm than good, thus we should begin the enforcement of
Copyright laws, and spread awareness of Copyright law.

Many people don't care about copyright law. Although some say that
copyright law is not a big deal. Still, it effects almost everything related to selling,
including business, writing, even education. In LinkedIn (Wong) and China Law
blog (Dresden), there are two articles, written by different authors, but
surprisingly, they are exactly the same! Research shows that the authors are not
related, the author from LinkedIn posted the article in November while the other
one was posted one month earlier. As a result, the LinkedIn article was the copied
one. The LinkedIn author chose to copy the article while they clearly know the
existent of the Copyright Law. Showing that she didn't care about Copyright.
There is only one way we could explain this action. The author doesn't care about
Copyright, and she chose to violate it even when knowing it. Another example is
on Youku. Not just Youku, but in any other website like it, including Tudou, Sohu,
etc. They all have many examples. Whenever a person searched for a TV show,
there are always many different versions of the same episode. Named in different
names, having a different thumbnail, but the videos are all the same.
It might sound surprising, but the violation of copyright has become a need
in China. Though normally, there's no way that getting things cheaper or free is a
need. But the people in Beijing only stick with the illegal, cheaper things, it
becomes a habit. (Rapoza Kenneth) Though people know it is bad, they keep on
using it. It is like smoking, once you feel the benefits, you don't want to stop. Even
when people know about copyright, they tend to keep on violating. In the
area in Beijing, most of the people knew what Copyright is, but they avoid talking
to the people who want to discuss on this topic. (Jeremy Yiu) A lot of the
resources they get to access are violating the copyright law, and they knew about
that, but they didn't want to lose the resource. When a foreigner comes and talks
about Copyright, they would instantly stop the discussion, because they think that
the people are coming to stop them from gaining the free access to the resources.
Still, it is illegal, and they knew that. We should change their habit of the people
getting resources illegally, and the easiest way to do that is to enforce Copyright
Law more than we have now.

Copyright law brings benefits. Some may believe that Copyright law blocks
the access to free resources, even if it brings benefits, there are more harm that it
is doing to us! But thinking back to it, the free resources are illegal in the first
place, you would get penalties if you use them, while having copyright keeps the
invention to yourself, and you have the power to protect the invention. When you
registered for copyright, your product may have the copyright sign above it, the
sign that represents this is Copyrighted. The sign is there to show other people
that this is copyrighted, and through the sign, people will know that this cannot
be copied, and if they remade the object, they will risk the chance of having to be
caught any paying for the illegal behavior. With copyright law's protection, you
get the power to protect whatever you or your organization made. Or else, when
you are using other's work, others may be using yours too. If you are a
businessman, you have to protect your business idea, if you are an author, you
have to protect your writing, even if you are a teacher, or lawyer, your
school/company name should not be used by others for their own
school/company. (Top 5 benefits) It doesn't matter which job you have, or what
you created, copyright laws always bring you benefits.
The violation of copyright law has become more and more often, and we
have to stop that. By enforcing the law, people can stop the violation. People are
receiving too many benefits from the Copyright infringement, and they decided to
ignore the existent of the law. We need to stop the copyright infringement and
spread awareness of it. Don't make the violation of the copyright law a normal
thing in China.
