PRICE MONITORING OF BASIC GOODS

In Partial Fulfillment of the Subject

Economics 1 (Principles of Economics)

Objective:

1. To compare and analyze how the supply, demand and price of basic goods such

as; carrots, cabbage, chayote and Baguio beans moves (upward, downward,

inward or forward) in the market.

Conclusion:

The purchase of goods depends upon the demand of the customers to a

particular product and the different season. According to the gathered data, the pick

season during regular days which the vendors sold more products is during Sundays

(family day), because of our tradition that during Sunday, the family should go to church

together and then go to the market to buy food for lunch. This implies that they would

have an additional quantity of goods that would fit to the family needs.

We therefore conclude that there is a fair market competition because the

retailers price does not have a very high cost difference with the purchase cost.

Table 1 shows the weekly total sales, purchase cost, and retailers price of per

kilogram of carrots.
