Dear parent/guardian,

Your child has expressed interest in participating in the Covering a Crazy Cyclone
event to be held at St. Peters Catholic Primary School. It is a Catholic schools
competition open to two school year divisions Years 3&4 and Years 5&6. The event
will be on Thursday 1st June 2017 beginning at 9:00am and conclude around
12:30pm. Students own transport will need to be organised and the school will assist
with the process of organising carpooling once a team has been decided upon to
represent the school.
Should your child attend they will work as part of a team of four (4) students from our
school. If your childs team wins, each team member will have the opportunity to
assist Livio Regano in presenting the local weather one night. Costs will be kept to a
minimum as Channel 7 are sponsoring the event and local weather presenter Livio
Regano will be present to deliver a short speech about cyclones, assist students in
the development of their news story and play a part in deciding who the winner will
be. As part of their sponsorship package Channel 7 will also be putting on a sausage
sizzle lunch.
We ask that if you would like your child to attend the Covering a Crazy Cyclone
event you have this consent form completed and returned to your childs classroom
teacher by Thursday 18th May 2017. Please clearly mark either or both of the
following boxes if you are able to assist in driving students between school and St.
Peters Catholic Primary School.
I am available between 8:30am and 9:00am to take students from our school to St.
Peters Catholic Primary School.
I am available between 12:30pm and 1:00pm to return students from St. Peters
Catholic Primary School to our school.
