PARTNER PASS

Class format: Small group

Organizational Pattern: Students with and without disabilities are in two


parallel lines facing each other about 15 feet (4.6m) apart.

Equipment: 10-inch (25cm) playground balls

Description: using the two-handed pass or baseball pass, students try to pass
to their partners from a stationary. Score 1 point for passes that are complete,
and subtract 2 points for each errant pass, or set up any type of scorin activity
that works for you

Extension: once they are successful with stationary passing,the partners move
accros the gym floor using either of the two passes

Inclusion suggestion: the student with a disability can be in charge of


determining the type of pass to be used for each trip accros the gym and reporti
g the score at the end of each trip

CALL IT OUT

Class format: Large group

Organizational Pattern: students are in parallel line formation opposite their


partners. This is a dynamic formation with students moving forward in pairs as
they pass the ball. Students with and without disabilities should be paired up.

Equipment: 10-inch (25cm) playground balls

Description: each set partners has a 10 inch (25 cm) playground ball and, on
the signal, must move forward across the floor, passing the ball as they move.
Partners must stay about 15 to 29 feet (4.6 to 6m) apart and emphasize keeping
the ball ahead of their partners. Change the type of pass every two or three trips
down the floor by calling out a new pass (i.e., two-handed pass, bounce pass,
baseball pass). The objective is to complete one trip without a miss using the
passes.

Extension: for students with varying degrees of manual propulsion, change the
type of ball used to pass or the distance passed

Inclusion suggestion: the students with a disability can call out the pass to be

Class format: One on one


Organizational Pattern: one students without a disability is at the corner of
the goal ner wit three 10 inch (25 cm) playground balls. The students with a
disability is positioned about 13 to15 feet (4 to 4.6 m) in front of the net.

Equipment: 10-inch (25cm) playground balls, goal or gym mats to simulate a


goal

Description: the purpose of this activity is for the student with moderate to high
functional ability to practice catching, securing, and shooting the ball into the
goal area. On signal, the student using the wheelchair moves
