Our JCI ASPAC logo, a flying horse is a symbol of fortune, energy, progressive change, prosperity, and
lead in to the future. Two colors used in the flying horse have respective meanings:

GREEN:
A green horse is believed to represent that the start of well-being in a new era. Green horse is a symbol
of JCI Mongolias next chapter of history.

RED:
Passion of creating positive change by and for young people

In addition, this logo is created and drawn by one of the most famous painter of Mongolia, who is
respected by all Mongolians.

OUR THEME
HURAI HURAI !
The word Hurai has a distinctive meaning about nomadic civilization of our country.

First, it has an honorable meaning of approval, embracement and encouragement. For instance, saying
for three times meant approval and embracement during the State honorary meetings such as State
great assembly and Inauguration ceremony of Khaan and Queen since the time of the Great Mongol
Empire.

Secondly, HURAI is said three times to empower and cheer during any ceremony and weddings toasts
and salutations.

Thirdly, Mongolians believe that HURAI has an enchanting meaning to stray away any bad luck. For
example, parents of youngsters say HURAI HURAI repeatedly to get rid of any fears and nightmares of
a child.

And, Finally, we have chosen HURAI as the theme of 2017 JCI ASPAC Ulaanbaatar to represent the
fusion of nomadic culture and modern practices of Mongolian people.

Dear Members & Senators,

It is a great pleasure to extend to you my most sincere congratulations on your 2017 JCI Asia
Pacific Conference in Ulaanbaatar. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my sincere
appreciation for your kind contributions to JCI as well as JCI Foundation.

In those years, nationalism, protectionism or anti-globalization have appeared at many places

in the world. Seeing those trends, we must think about what we have achieved through global
partnership, which are not only economic prosperities but also mutual support spirits with the
common sense; Service to humanity is the best work of life. We must not stop the global move-
ments which our predecessors have accumulated for several decades. We shall keep working for
our next generation and for our goal JCI will be the organization that unites all sectors of society
to create sustainable impact.

I hope this Asia Pacific Conference would become a great opportunity for each delegate to
recognize that our movement is a just right way for humankind. And surely your Conference
Chairman Marc Brian Lim will lead this conference to be one of the most successful Ones. Off
course, your active participation is essential to make this conference truly meaningful and fruitful.

Many thanks for your dedication to the JCI Mission. I am very looking forward to talking to you
and listening to your stories at each session here in Ulaanbaatar.

Dear JCI Senators,

Distinguished delegates from Asia Pacific. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your

Until this moment, many senators from JCI Mongolia have actively participated to ensure suc-
cessful preparation of 2017 JCI ASPAC, along with Conference Organizing Committee and their
contribution has been measureless.

I strongly believe this ASPAC Conference will provide unlimited opportunities for all JCI members

GREETINGS

2017 JCI Vice President

KONGJOO KIM

JCI members in Asia-Pacific area,

It is pleasure to meet you. Welcome to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where the 67th JCI ASPAC is held.

For the first time in more than 100 years of JCI history, JCI Mongolia has hosted 2017 JCI
ASPAC. I am delighted and happy to be able to share this glory in the area where I am assigned
to. JCI Mongolia is a fast growing member country with a passion and a grand dream like as
wide vast grasslands. I hope you to experience and feel the potential of JCI Mongolia and JCI
Ulaanbaatar in this ASPAC.

We are engaged in various activities around the world according to JCI creed, mission, and
vision. I think that JCI has the potential and influence to be superior to the government or inter-
national organization of a nation as a private organization with global network. But with such a
possibility, everything will be meaningless without the willingness to act, the ability to act, and the
mature citizenship that supports it.

That is why it is very important for young people to act responsibly in the community and
national issues. Through our JCI networks around the world, we can find more advanced and
sustainable solutions from examples of similar issues. And as we develop through these young
people, we believe that we will be able to present new opportunities and sustainable goals for the
next generation of young people and to develop impact-driven JCI campaigns around the world
like the Peace is possible campaign.

Therefore, as JCI Vice President, I would like all JCI members to take 2017 ASPAC as an oppor-
tunity to be born again as community leaders who lead to positive change. The World Congress,
including the Area Conference every year, is a great step for JCI to create a sustainable solution
as young active citizens gather together to exchange information and make friendships.
During the ASPAC, I hope that all the members will have a pleasant and meaningful time.

Once again, I welcome all of you to the 67th JCI ASPAC. Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,

Kongjoo Kim

Our theme word is Hurai, Hurai, which came from ancient state governing tradition of Mongolia.
To dsicuss and solveeimportant matters of state importance, parliamentarians and statesmen would
assemble a meeting called Huraldai, and upon reaching to the agreement, they would approve their
decision by auspicious Hurai rite, which calls for unity, prosperity. For this meaning, we have cho-

CHINGGIS KHAN STATUE COMPLEX

The complex, which is located 54 km away from Ulaanbaatar,
features the largest equestrian statue of Mongolia's Grand
Khan. It is built at the location known as "Tsonjin Boldog",
where the great khan is believed to have found a horse whip,
which was considered good luck according to an ancient
Mongolian belief. The construction of the statue began in 2006
and took two years to complete. It encompasses a total area of
212 hectares and the statue is built as a tourism complex.
While the statue itself is 30 meters tall, its base is 10 meters
high and 30 meters in diameter. It features exhibition halls,
restaurants, a bar, a meeting hall and souvenir shops. The
architecture of the statue is stunning and it allows visitors to
take a lift all the way to the top of the statue, enjoying a
magnicent, 360 degree bird's-eye view. It is open during all
four seasons and is a great get-away during the weekends.

GANDANTEGCHINLEN MONASTERY
Even when religious practice was prohibited, the chanting of
monks and sounds of cymbals, tambourines, and bell drums
never recessed. Gandantegchinlen Monastery is home to six
Mongolian, Mongolian-Chinese, and Tibetan- Chinese temples
and organizations, including the Institute of Buddhism and
Institute of Urlakhui. The monastery is actively managed, and
as you enter to worship the gods and join the pilgrimage among
the crowd, the scent of cypress and khuj incense will overtake
your senses.
In the northern part of the monastery rests the Megjid
Janraisag Buddha. The Buddha, constructed in 1911, is eighty
feet tall; built to the scale of an adult of average height. In 1937
the Communists broke down and removed the monument in
pieces and shipped them to Soviet Union. Having lost their
shrine to God, the Mongols facilitated the work of
reconstructing the monument in 1991, and the Buddha was
complete in 1996.

DASHCHOILON MONASTERY
Dashchoilon monastery, in the east of the city, sits upon 140
pillars and characterizes Tibetan and Mongolian casting style.
It is comprised of 30 gorgeous temples to run religious
gatherings and worship rituals. This includes Battsagaan
Cathedral, which can be expanded by extending its awnings
during the summer; Maitreya Temple revering a fty-foot tall
Maitreya Buddha; and the golden roofed Dechingalbyn Temple.
Not a single nail was used in construction of the buildings.
Dashchoilon Monastery is the city's largest Mongolian-style
architectural monument.
Currently it is home to more than 100 monks and three
temples, Tsogchin, Sahius and Gandanchoinhorlin. Cultural
practices such as the ceremonies of Khuree Maitreya, to
restore precepts, and the Khuree Tsam leap are organized
annually, plan to enjoy them during your vacation to Mongolia
and visit the great monastery.
