The Water and Environment Business Sector has an immediate opening in the Charlotte, NC
office for an entry level Water Resources Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for civil
design tasks for projects involving storm water management, drainage systems, as well as water
distribution systems, sanitary sewer conveyance systems, and pump stations.
Position Description
Participate on project teams to plan and design NCDOT and municipal storm water,
water and wastewater infrastructure facilities
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies and design using hydrologic and hydraulic
software
Prepare contract documents including reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Use Microstation and/or AutoCAD as well ESRI GIS software an integral part of the
design work
Job Requirements
Education Required:
Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Experience/Skills Required:
Project experience in the following areas is desirable:
Civil engineering principles and practices
Storm water management and drainage systems on NCDOT projects
Bridge hydraulic/scour analysis; flood control; and other water resource projects
Potable water distribution systems, and wastewater conveyance systems and pump
stations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic design software is highly desirable
Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation and ESRI GIS a plus
Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement
are highly desirable
