To Whom It May Concern,

I write to you to recommend Sebastian Diaz as a candidate for employment to your institution. I
have known Sebastian for 2 years in a student leader capacity at Francisco Bravo Medical
Magnet High School, where I am Assistant Principal. He has served the School Site Council
while in 10th and 11th grade as our secretary (2015-16) and this year as President (2016-17). This
council is the representative body at our school that decides how the school will use the 1 million
dollar federal funding allocated to our school. In my observation of Sebastian, I find him to be a
very enthusiastic student that is adamant about learning and being and instrument of change. He
is a gifted student with a passion to do well in all his endeavors. He is ranked in the top 5% of his
class and very capable. Sebastian possesses strong advocacy skills, is an effective orator, and a
very persuasive writer. He is not shy about asking for clarification and he is very resourceful
when it comes to meeting his needs and those of others.

I regard Sebastian to have a highly adaptive and energetic personality with strong presence and
character. He remains focused and poised in even the most challenging situations. Sebastian has
chosen a very rigorous yet creative course of studies a demanding where some students have
been known to buckle under pressure. Yet, he manages to be very involved in his community as a
leader in many capacities. He has demonstrated these qualities in running our monthly 16
member council meeting-comprised of students, parents, teachers and staff. He has led all after
school meetings with preparation, punctuality and command of his responsibilities utilizing
Roberts Rules of Order. He guides and mentors other officers in the cabinet as well. He is
respected by faculty and peers alike for his reliability of knowledge as well as work ethic. He is
also an excellent motivator and brings a positive force to any environment.

Attending Bravo high school is no easy trek for Sebastian. He travels 21 miles each way to
school, yet he is passionate about attending Bravo and doing well here. Sebastian has many
talents which he shares readily with his community. He is a musician and has achieved virtuoso
status- he works with the school marching band. He enjoys development and use of media
various media which he utilizes to persuade others about a healthy organic environment and
further spread his message of sustainability. He has championed many causes by use of his
writing skills. This young man has written grants that have led to the development and funding of
a school garden. With three grants he obtained over $ 110, 000 from private and public sources
for our school.

Bravos Mission
To prepare students for a post-secondary education and to provide them
with opportunities to explore the health professions, while fostering an
environment of inquiry and learning that promotes the development of
their human relations, skills, and abilities.
Sebastian has exposed himself to the college environment and taken 3 college classes in foreign
language and communication which increase his efficiency in presentation as a bilingual speaker.
His exposure to college programs has broadened his views and made him a global thinker.
Sebastian seeks out activities that interest him and then dives in. He is fearless and sees no
limitations.

Sebastian has a caring and compassionate demeanor, suitable in any environment. He carries
himself with the utmost dignity and respect and can work with colleagues and adults alike. He
has a wonderful sense of humor that keeps him grounded and able to overcome pitfalls. He
possesses a magnetic personality that compels strangers to help him in his causes. He is a very
worthy candidate. I hope that she is considered as a candidate for employment. He will be an
asset to you environment.
