1. Open Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and go to Administrator tab then

Installation Packages, Client Installation Package and choose the newest package :

2. Right-click and select Export . Check Create an EXE file choose silent installation settings

 3. Open Wsus Package Publisher. If you already have a folder for Symantec Endpoint
Protection, drag and drop the Setup.exe file to it. Otherwise, click Updates and select
Create an Update :

4. Leave settings as is and click Next :

 5. Fill Vendor Name and Product Name , give a title and a description. In Return Codes,
register 1 as Succeeded and check Need Reboot. If you have already published a
previous version of SEP, dont forget to mark this one as supersedes.

 6. Choose Msi Product Installed as Rule Type and click Add Rule:

7. Fill the Product code as show :

 8. Check Delete Rules at Package Level and then click Next :

 9. Choose Processor Architecture and then click Add Rule :

10. Select Architecture x86 and then click Ok :

 11. Add a Msi Product Installed rule and type the same product code. Check Reverse Rule :

12. Check Delete Rules at Package Level and then click Publish :

 13. Do the same with the x64 package and use this product code :

14. Select the newly publish update and, on the status tab, select your test group :

 15. Select computers and right click on it. Select Send Detect Now :

16. Wait 1 minute, to let computers to detect the new update.

17. Right click on computers and select Send Report Now :

 18. Look at the status for computers. Check that the update is Not installed for computers that
require it :

19. Select updates and right click on it. Select Quick Approval to One-Click-Approve these
updates. Or, if you dont have MetaGroups, simply select Approve :

 20. On a test computer, search for new updates :

21. Verify that is the good one :

 22. Click on Install updates :

23. Wait for the update to finish to install :

 24. After installation, the status show Installed, Pending reboot :

25. Restart the computer :
