Executive Summary

In this technical paper SMS based wireless notice board explains how to establish an effective
and reliable communication between a mobile phone and a microcontroller using GSM modem.
The Aims of this project is integrating the expansiveness of a wireless cellular network and the
ease of information transfer through the SMS with the coverage of public display notice board
from different office such as registrar, student union, cafeteria, library, collages and departments.
We simulate, design a GSM based wireless electronic noticeboard in our campus. It provides
easily accessible information from different offices of Wolkite university to the students;
indicating it by producing an alarm when receiving an SMS from the respective office. For
simulation we aspect proteus set up and Micro c to compile the programmed.

First and foremost, we would like to give heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty GOD that keeps us
till this day with his endless love and guidance in the path of our life. Next, we would like to
really thank to our Advisor, Instructor Melkamu Gemane (MSc. in ECE) for his motivation to
continuously guide, support and encourage us throughout the project and for introducing the
project topic. We would also like to thank Instructor Ashenafi (MSc. in ECE), wkus Head of
Department in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) for his continuous support and
supervision. Finally, We would like to thank all group members that had always been dedicated
in making this project successful no matter how hard it is without their support this project are
