My name is Dhafer AlQahtani and I am writing to you in order to express my interest in entering into
the Electrical Engineering program at Johns Hopkins University. This university is known throughout
the world as one of the leading locations for studying in the field of electrical engineering, and through
my research of various universities I have decided that Johns Hopkins University is the one that suits
me the best.

I have worked in the electrical engineering field through an internship in my home country, which upon
completion of my studies will be turn into a major and significant managerial position. In my city,
which is in the heart of the oil producing region of Saudi Arabia, the energy industry is the most
important business in the entire city.

Saudi Arabia is a relatively new country, which needs to develop its intellectual and human resources.
This is one of the reasons why I am applying for this graduate program. I would like to take the
expertise of Johns Hopkins and bring it back to my country in order to create a better life for all of the
people who live there. In addition, I would like to play a role in advancing alternative energies, and I
believe that Johns Hopkins and their talented faculty can help with this.
