PREAMBLE

Omniety Solutions has designed and developed a Web-based Online Test Application framework that
facilitates institutions to conduct practice exams and/or recruitment selection exams over the Internet.

A Computer-Based Assessment (CBA), also known as Computer-Based Testing (CBT), e-exam / online test,
computerized testing and computer-administered testing, is a method of administering tests in which the
responses are electronically recorded, assessed, or both. CBA systems enables educators and trainers to
author, schedule, deliver, and report on surveys, quizzes, tests and exams online with real time results.

Online Tests / Mock Practice Exams will give extensive practice and confidence for the task and are suitable for
conducting tests in various patterns including CET, AIEEE, IIT-JEE or the upcoming ISEET exams. Apart from
these, online tests can also be conducted for GATE, Civil Service Exam IAS, Bank P.O, Railway Recruitment
Exams, N.D.A. National Defense Academy, C.D.S. Combined Defense Services, I.E.S., L.I.C.A.A.O., M.B.A.,
Income Tax, Hotel Management, Sub-Inspector of Police Exam, Assistant Grade exams, Civil Service Exam IPS,
S.B.I.P.O., R.B.I, Section Officers, U.D.C, G.I.C.A.A.O, Central Exercise and Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

E-assessment / E-Learning online testing is becoming popular and widely used in Universities / Colleges /
Service Selection Boards and other recruitment companies in India for various course admission selection test
and recruitment selections.

ONLINE TEST ARCHITECTURE

The online test application is a web-based framework, which means the students are free to take the test from any
computer with an Internet connection. This could be from an Internet Caf, home PC or a computer from the
school. Being completely web-based, there is no requirement for the student to install any specific software on
their computers. Students can simply login to your site from any Internet connected device and start taking the
tests from anywhere, at anytime.

MODE OF OPERATION

STUDENTS PERSPECTIVE

The modus operandi of the online test website is quite simple. Students register and login to your online test
website to select the test they want to take. Free exams can be taken at any time. Paid exams will be as per a pre-
determined schedule. After completion of an exam, they will be shown their results immediately.

COMPLETELY WEB-BASED APPLICATION ON LATEST INFRASTRUCTURE & TECHNOLOGY

The online test application runs on the latest infrastructure / hardware and software with 99% uptime and
unlimited bandwidth guaranteed by the vendor. This ensures your tests remain available to your students as
and when they require.

The advantage of having a complete web-based online test application is that students are not required to
install any software on their computers. A basic computer with an Internet connection and a browser is all
that is required to take your tests from anywhere, including Internet Cafs.

The online test website is hosted on our trusted network & infrastructure, which eliminates the need for your

Omniety Solutions will be responsible for provisioning and enabling of the online test sub-domain (website)
for your institute. The initial process of setting up your online test website including preparation of your
question papers can be completed rapidly within one business week.

EXISTING WEBSITE (OPTIONAL)

Most institutes have existing websites. Those institutes having a website, the online test website will be
linked to your existing website by means of a hyperlink. This makes it easier for your students to access the
test from your website, which they are familiar with.

For institutes that do not have a website, the online test website can be used as the landing webpage for your
institute, completely branded with your logos and trademarks.

PAID AND FREE EXAMS

Online Test gives the ability to offer free and paid exams to your students. Free exams are a great way to
capture the audience and give students a taste of the quality of your exams.

For paid exams, your students have an option of buying the set either online or offline. The Online method
gives students and parents the ability to purchase a set of tests using their debit card/ internet banking etc.
directly from the website. Offline payments can also be accepted by your institute directly by means of
demand drafts, cheques or cash payments. Exams purchased offline can be enabled manually by your
management using the administration console.

TYPES OF QUESTIONS

Special attention has been given to the various types of questions that are currently used in competitive
exams. The online test application accommodates the following types of questions:

Single Answer Only one of the available options is correct.

Multiple Answer One or more than one option is correct
Matrix / Matching Column I containing options A, B, C, and D may match with options in
Column Column II containing P, Q, R, S, and T.
Integer Answer The answer is a single digit number between 0 and 9.

Your test / question paper can contain a combination of all of the above types of questions, to give your
students a realistic experience of a competitive exam.

IMMEDIATE RESULTS & SUBJECT-WISE ANALYSIS

As soon as a student completes a test, the application stores and processes the answers to provide immediate
results including subject-wise marks, rank, graphical reports and question-wise analysis to the student. The
final report will show each question with the students answer, correct answer, marks scored for that question
and an optional solution to the question.

MERGE OFFLINE & ONLINE RESULTS

A provision to upload and merge offline exam results along with the online results gives students a better
picture of where they stand in a larger group. Uploading of offline results can be done using the
administration console.

GRAPHICAL ANALYSIS REPORTS

After completion of an online test, the student will be shown graphical reports that highlight certain aspects of
their performance.

TIME CONSTRAINED TESTS

Tests can be designed to enforce time restrictions. Time constrained tests will automatically submit student
answers and close the test when the permitted time expires. Unconstrained tests can also be provided where
students will be permitted to continue the test even after the time expires.

SCHEDULED TESTS

Management will be able to create tests and schedule them as per their academic calendar. The online test
application will automatically enable tests as per the schedule. This helps management to create all tests in
one go, and releasing them to students in a controlled way.

PAUSE, SAVE AND CONTINUE TESTS

Students often require the ability to stop a test before completing and continue later. It is a desirable feature
in the event of any unforeseen scenarios such as unexpected power or system outages.

The online test application provides students the ability to save their answers as and when required. This gives
students an opportunity to continue their test from where they left off.

In addition, the student answers are automatically saved at regular intervals so that students dont lose their
answers in the event of a sudden power failure. Students will be able to continue their tests by logging back
into the website.

LATER OPTION

Students can also mark difficult questions for later. This feature helps them to answer easy or known
questions first and revisiting difficult questions later.

If the student attempts to submit his answers while still having any questions marked for later, a reminder
about the pending questions will be shown prior to finishing the test.

looked after. The online test application provides a sophisticated administration tool to manage your website
as required, including the ability to create / schedule tests and manage students.
