BB Bar high strength steel bars for are hot rolled and proof stressed alloy
steel conforming to ASTM A722.

Thread BB Bar is produced by rolling continuous coarse thread-like rib

deformation throughout the length of the bar. It can be cut and coupled at
any point for quick and easy assembly.

Smooth BB Bar is produced by cold rolled threads at both ends of the bar.
The cold rolled threads are classified for high fatigue strength.

BB Bar high strength steel bars undergo a strict quality assurance

program in ISO 9002 certified manufacturing facilities.

LOCAL ZONE REINFORCEMENT

Different anchorage arrangements of the bars require the addition of different bursting
reinforcement. The additional reinforcing steel requirements also vary for different
countries, building codes and standards. For more information on requirements for a
specific project please contact the BBV office.

BB BAR MINING PRODUCTS
BB Bar may be used for high capacity bolt shafts with either mechanical of grouted strata reinforcement anchors.

The bolt shafts may be fitted with our various bolt components for bolt head tensioning and anchoring within the
strata. The bars can also be supplied with a slash cut end to facilitate mixing of epoxy cartridges.

Expansion Shell Anchor

The nut maybe secured to the bar with a steel shear pin. This pin would facilitate a one time automated installation
of the bolt with a rock bolter or other torquing apparatus to fully tension the expansion shell before shearing of the
pin is induced by the expansion shell becoming fully engaged within the bore hole.

Subsequent tensioning of the bolt shaft would then take place once the pin has sheared allowing the nut to move
freely along the bar shaft to engage with the plate and rock surface.

Alternatively the shear pin mechanism may be utilized to mix epoxy grout cartridges within the bore hole and
subsequent tensioning of the bolt head once the epoxy has set.

The dish anchor plate is designed for use with our spherical anchor head nut to overcome minor surface angularity
and allow for angular misalignment between bolt shaft and the strata surface. Lugs may also be pressed into the
plate to facilitate hanging of utilities, fastening of mesh etc.

Our expansion shell is a three part wedge assembly allowing easy tensioning with our thread bars for load transfer
in any rock strata which is sufficiently competent to provide adequate anchorage.
