Safety Management Regulations on Running Bridge Plug Operation WEL-QHSE/W 7.5.1-P07

1 Purposes
To make the running bridge plug perforating operation standardized, normalized and routinized, and
strengthen the control of safety and quality of on-site operation, and meet the QHSE requirements of
Operator or Client.
2 Scope
The Regulations are applicable to the running bridge plug operation of WellTech-COSL.
3 Terms and Definitions
NA.
4 Responsibility and Authority
4.1 Person in Charge of Operating Line
a) Be responsible for the approval of operation plan for running bridge plug;
b) Supervise and inspect the implementation of QHSE system.
4.2 Leading Engineer
a) As major implementer and liable person of the whole operation process, responsible for quality,
efficiency and safety in the whole operation process for the team;
b) Be responsible for communication with the operator and the operating line foreman, and
collection of relevant required data;
c) Supervise the implementation of QHSE system on the site, complete or guide relevant personnel
to relevant personnel to complete various reports and records.
4.3 Leading Operator
a) Be responsible for organizing the operators to accomplish the tasks allocated by the engineer in
charge;
b) Be responsible for organizing the operators to complete the equipment preparation, servicing,
maintenance, inspection and recording.
5 Working Procedures
5.1 Safety Management and Meeting Regulations
5.1.1 Management Regulations on Operation Safety shall be complied.
5.1.2 Comply with Management Regulations on Storage, Transportation, Use & Discard of Blasting
Supplies.
5.1.3 When using the conventional electric detonator, use the radio silence, and do not conduct electrogas
welding operation.
5.1.4 The engineer shall communicate and coordinate with the supervisor, drilling crew and involved other
third parties on relevant matters concerned before operation.
5.1.5 Convene the prelog safety meeting before operation to specify the responsibilities of the team
members, discuss the contents of JSA Worksheet with team members, and fill in the JSA Worksheet.
5.2 Assembly of the Bridge Plug Tools
5.2.1 New O rings shall be used upon each operation.
5.2.2 The floating piston of upper barrel shall be pushed to the bottom, and attention shall be paid to its

positive and reverse direction.


5.2.3 During installation of middle connectors, make the large hole face to the direction of connecting the
bridge plug.
5.2.4 The oil shall be poured along the inner wall slowly.
5.2.5 The oil quantity shall be selected according to the table below:

5.2.6 After connecting the upper and lower barrels, the clearance between lower joint and sleeve shall be
less than 9.5mm.
5.2.7 Release valve shall be replaced mandatorily after use of twenty times, and replaced immediately upon
any crack found.
5.2.8 The ignition tube shall be loaded into the powder chamber, and then special detonator meter is used
for check;
5.2.9 Use a special lock ring clamp to fix the secondary powder lock ring; the powder chamber shall be
fixed well, and personnel shall not directly face the output end.
5.3 Wellhead Connection
5.3.1 After the ignition test, the leading engineer and leading operator shall confirm that the cable is fully
discharged.
5.3.2 After the cable is discharged, all safety switches shall be placed in a safe position, and the safety key
shall be kept by a specially assigned person.
5.3.3 When using the conventional electric detonator, confirm the radio has become silent before connecting
the ignition head.
5.4 Running Bridge Plug
5.4.1 Complete pipe cleaning and well cleanup before running the bridge plug.
5.4.2 The engineer shall confirm the zero length before running the bridge plug into the hole.
5.4.3 The lowering speed for bridge plug tool strings shall not exceed 50m/ min.
5.4.4 Reduce the lowering speed when passing through the tail pipe hanger and perforated interval.
5.5 Depth Correction
The depth correction figure shall be marked with the zero length and ignition setting location, and
confirmed and signed by the supervisor.
5.6 Ignition Setting
5.6.1 The setting location shall avoid the casing collar.
5.6.2 After lifting the cable to make the bridge plug situated in the setting position, the supervisor shall
confirm the ignition depth before ignition, and meanwhile confirm that the relations among the
ignition depth, zero length and delay is correct.
5.6.3 During ignition, closely observe the change of cable tension force and ignition panel current.
5.7 Lifting of Bridge Plug Tools
Under the condition of using radio silence, dissolve the radio silence after confirming successful
ignition.

5.8 Pressure Relief of Bridge Plug Tools


5.8.1 Release the pressure before removing the bridge plug tools.
5.8.2 In releasing the pressure, make the pressure relief hole face the slanting direction, and personnel shall
stand the other side of the pressure relief hole.
5.8.3 After using the bridge plug tools each time, immediately them.
5.9 Fill in and timely update the Ledger of Blasting Suppliers of Team.
