2. Operating procedure
2.1 The specification for inverter connection is shown below.
The basic inverter startup operation.
The parameter setting procedure for running inverters is shown below. Please confirm that the following conditions are fulfilled before
performing the operating procedure.
<Conditions>
(1) The inverter user constant n004 "frequency command selection" should be set to 9 (option card).
(2) The inverter user constant n003 "run command selection" should be set to 3 (option card).
(3) It is in the state where the inverter is assigned on the SVB allotment screen. The name at the time of assigning serves
as "VS-7SERIESE."

<Outline of operating procedure>

[Connection check]
1) Monitor parameter "operation status" (IWxx00) bit3: If Inverter READY is ON, connection between the SVB and the inverter should
be established OK.
In case it is OFF, check the user constant setup of the inverter, the allotment setup of SVB and the connection status of the
MECHATROLINK cable.

3) SVB -- -- if SVB is in the inverter operation control state, the monitor parameter running status" (IWxx00) bit0: the operation
preparation completion becomes ON.
If it is OFF, check that the setting parameter "command" (OWxx08) is set correctly to inverter operation control.
In the inverter operation control command state, "run command setting" bit13: operation permission is not accepted.
The operation permission flag is the detection of preparation. Turn on again after returning once at OFF.

[Operation]
4) Inverter operation control is selected with the setting parameter "command" (OWxx08).
Cautions: After 1 scan (H scan), a gap is opened after turning on setting parameter "run command setting" (OWxx00) bit13:operation

5) Setup / monitor of an inverter output [an operating signal (OWxx10), a speed command (OWxx11), torque command (OWxx12)]
and an inverter input [status (IWxx10), output frequency (IWxx11), output current (IWxx12)] becomes possible. In addition, the output data
of Wxx13-OWxx16 and the input data to IWxx13-IWxx1D become effective by choosing output option selection (OWxx0C) and input
option selection (OWxx0D) if required.
Output data for inverter running

When inverter is running, output

data is always available.

Data is effective when the

inverter is running, setting up
output option selection
(OWxxOC) or when
executing subcommand,
inverter IO control, setting up
output option selection
(OWxxOE) for auxiliary.

When inverter is running, output

data is always available.
Input data for inverter running

Data is effective by when the

inverter is running, setting up
input option selection
(OWxxOD) or when
executing subcommand,
inverter IO control, setting up
input option selection
(OWxxOF) for auxiliary.

Notes: Inverter IO control of subcommand is effective only when using MECHATROLINK-II (32-byte mode).

Supplement 1: When a command "inverter operation control" is changed into other commands while running, (in the inverter), hold the
last data and continue operation. Since the input / output between SVB-inverters has stopped, the input data of a monitor
parameter holds the last data. (However, a monitor is always possible for a monitor parameter "status" by commands other
than a penetration command.)

Supplement 2: The input output data which can be used with the inverter type, differs. Please refer to 7. parameter list for details.

4/36
3. Input/output option selection

In inverter operation control commands, output data OWxx13-OWxx16 and input data IWxx13-IWxx1F can make the data change by
choosing output option selection (OWxx0C) and input option selection (OWxx0D).
However, the data chosen by output option selection and input option selection (including for auxiliary output/input) changes the response by
the number of selected data, and a maximum of 6 times delay occurs from the equivalent response time compared to the data which can
always be outputted and inputted. Change of the response in the number of option selections is shown below.

Data which can always be outputted and inputted: An operating signal (OWxx10), a speed command (OWxx11), a torque command
(OWxx12), status (IWxx10), output frequency (IWxx11), output current (IWxx12)

* There is no regulation of the combination of a command by the SVB side.
* When demand of a main command and subcommand is competed, the inverter side processes from a main command first.
* During processing, the command being processed has priority. However, when a main command "inverter operation control" and
subcommand "inverter IO control" competes, it is overwritten by the processing of a subcommand.

7. Notes on operation
7.1 Operation at the time of a CPU stop
If STOP of MP2300 CPU is performed during running operation of an inverter (*1), SVB will perform a forced stop operation to an inverter.
(When the forward or the reverse bit turns on, it is turned OFF compulsorily regardless its application.)
When it changes to RUN from CPU STOP again, since SVB cancels the forced stop operation, the inverter running operation resumes
following the application.

7.2 MECHATROLINK allotment change when an inverter is running

Saving the MECHATROLINK definition screen of MP2300/SVB cannot be performed during operation of an inverter (*1). When you save
a definition screen, it should be carried out with the inverter in a stopped condition (*2).

7.3 Fixed parameter change when an inverter is running

Saving fixed parameter under inverter running operation (*1) cannot be performed. When you save a fixed parameter, it should be carried
out with the inverter in a stopped condition (*2).

[Supplement]
*1: During inverter running operation, the bit 5, operation of a monitor parameter "status (IWxx10)" is ON. ( If "status" bit5,
operation is ON even if the motor is stopping, it is under inverter operation)
*2: During the inverter stopping means that the bit5, operation, of a monitor parameter "status (IWxx10)" is OFF.

malfunction selection Becomes effective when the function selection flag 2 "communication malfunction detection mask" is
chosen by "invalidity."
In selection of alarm, when communication error for 2 continuous communication cycles occurs, a
communication error is reported to a monitor parameter "alarm." It becomes a communication
stop state with continuous communication malfunction detection of more than 10 cycles, and a
communication error is reported to a monitor parameter "alarm." Even if it returns to normal
3 Function selection flag 3 Bit setup 8000H communication state, the return is not reset automatically. An alarm clearance is required to return
to a normal communication state.
There are no changes to the communication stop caused by communication malfunction in
selection of warning. Communication warning is reported to a monitor parameter "warning." If it
returns to normal communication state, communication warning will be automatically cleared.

Bit0 to C : Intact
Bit D: Operation permission 0: OFF / 1: ON
Effective / invalid of the inverter control operation are chosen. (This bit is the inverter
control ON/OFF detection)
In the case of an OFF state, a command "inverter operation control" cannot be
used. Other commands can be used.
In the case of OFF to ON, it is the demand to the ready condition of inverter
operation control. However, during selection of a command "inverter operation
control", the demand is not receivable. Please perform OFF to ON again after
choosing commands other than "inverter operation control". The check of an
inverter operation controllable state can be confirmed by ON of the bit0:
operation preparation completion in the monitor parameter "operation status."
In the case of ON to OFF, if inverter operation control-command is under
execution, as for the monitor parameter "command status", the bit3: command
error termination state becomes ON. In under inverter operation, it becomes
compulsion OFF ( forward / reverse OFF) in the system.
0 OWxx00 Run command setup Bit setup 0 Bit E: Communication reset O: OFF / 1: ON
The re-connection of the communication to an inverter is carried out. (This bit is
detection of ON.)
Regardless of communication stopping and under communication, a communication
re-connection is carried out.
When alarm / warning has not occurred, the Bit performs a communication
re-connection.
Bit F: Alarm clearance O: OFF / 1: ON
A monitor parameter "alarm" is cleared. (This bit is detection of ON)
When a communication error occurs and it has become a communication stop state,
re-establishment of a connection is performed simultaneously with the clearance of
an alarm bit.
Cautions: Since an alarm clearance is clear processing of the alarm by the SVB
side, the alarm and warning by the inverter side are not cleared in an alarm
clearance. When clearing the alarm by the inverter side, an "inverter operation
control" command can be used and the alarm by the inverter side can be cleared by
turning on operating signal (OWxx10) bit8: error reset.

Note 1: When two or more abnormalities are detected simultaneously, SI-T (MECHATROLINK option card) gives priority to and notifies
what has a less serious alarm code.
Note 2: Even if it detects other abnormalities during malfunction detection, does not update the value of an alarm code.
Note 3: When two or more light faults are detected simultaneously, SI-T (MECHATROLINK option card) gives priority to and notifies
what has a less serious value of an alarm code.
