JUNIOR GRAND PRIX 2017

Cole OLeary came runner up at this
years Junior Grand Prix 2017 under
10s regional grade 3 tournament at
Redland Tennis Club on Sunday 28th
May. He beat 27 other players from
Essex, Wiltshire, Avon and Wales,
eventually losing out to a county
player from Essex in the final.
Whilst he played well, his most
impressive display was showing
maturity beyond his years, holding his
nerve at match point on 2 occasions
in the quarter and semi and still
coming though on top. With other
boys going to pieces and crumbling
under the pressure, Cole stayed
calm, set his mind on winning and
dominated mentally and physically.
What a fabulous achievement, we
are all proud of you Cole!

YOUTH SPEAKS
On a hot, sticky afternoon just before half term, our seven Y6 finalists gave their speeches to the two
gentlemen from Thornbury Rotary Club, plus Mrs Beach. They all did extremely well, ably supported
by their peers.
The judging was extremely close, with only three marks between the first three places! In third
place was Jeanne with her speech about Being Bilingual. In Second place Harry telling us all about
Jaguars and in first place Toby with his speech about Porsche.
An excellent effort by them all and we hope Toby does really well at the beginning of July when he
will represent TMS in the final round of the competition.
