I contacted Dr.Fixit for waterproofing of my roof last year. Their representative visited my house and
advised me to contact authorized applicator, M/s Star Chemical Solutions for the job. I made an initial
payment as par the contract to start the job and later on paid full on completion. The agency not only
did not give me any written guarantee as promised but also reduced the period by 50% as against
company's claim. The layers are cracking and peeling off at various places resulting in water seepage
within one year while the company guarantees at least 7-10yrs. I have been continuously following up
with the company but in vein. Their representative has been intentionally delaying the inspection for the
reason best known to him. The company has also been ignoring the issue which might result in spoiling
of my house. Hence I would like to request a strong action against Dr.Fixit for misleading customers thru
false advertisements and neglecting customer's compalint at the same time re doing waterproofing of
entire roof of my house as par their specifications. I require a written guarantee on the job as advertized
by them.

Roof Leakage Solutions

Check for damage in the roofing material directly above where the leak is coming in. This will likely be
easier to find on a flat roof, but leaks can also come into the house a good distance from where the
actual roof damage is located.

If your roof is slanted, inspect areas on the roof that are higher than where the leak enters the home.

If you have an attic, inspect it with a flashlight for water stains, black marks or mold.

Run a hose along different sections of the roof and have a person inside alert you when leaking occurs.

1. SURFACE PREPARATION
 1. Rake the construction joints to remove loose concrete from the
joint.
2. Drill holes and fixing nozzles in construction Joints and patching
the joint with cement sand mortar.
3. Grout the nozzles thus fixed with cement slurry admixed
with DURA-EV (Non shrink polymeric grouting compound).
4. Clean the RCC Substrate of all oil, grease and loosely adhering
particles.
5. Repair the RCC with rich cement -sand mortar and DURAKRIT if
there are any crack (more than 1 mm wi de), pinholes, etc. as per
the literature of DURAKRIT.
6. Lay mortar gola using DURAKRIT along the horizontal and vertical
edges, other projections, etc. as per the specification of "Mortar
Gola".

7. Apply a 20 mm thick protective layer consisting 1:4:: Cement :

Sand mortar admixed with Integral Waterproofing compound DURA
1 at 1-1.5 kg per bag of cement where the RCC has the slope for
draining off water. Otherwise, make the adequate slope by PCC.
8. Apply 20mm thick jointless waterproofing Plaster in cement mortar
1:4 (1Cement : 4Coarse Sand) admixed with Integral
Waterproofing compound DURA 1 at 1kg per bag of cement and
finally finishing the surface with a coat of neat cement slurry
admixed Integral Waterproofing compound DURA 1.
9. Make vatta/gola upto 300mm in vertical wall.
10. Mark the entire finished surface with 300mm x 300mm in grid
pattern.
11. Make khurras as specified for draining roof water.
12. Cure the entire surface with water for a period of 14 days.

Waterproofing a structure from the exterior is the only method the IBC (International Building Code)
recognizes as adequate to prevent structural damage caused by water intrusion.
Waterproofing an existing basement begins with excavating to the bottom sides of the footings.
Once excavated, the walls are then power washed and allowed to dry. The dry walls are sealed with

waterproofing materials can be sprayed directly onto a wall, are very fast curing, and are semi-
flexible, allowing for some movement of the substrate.
